Petition is a formal document to make request to an authority, government or public official. It contains the signature of people who support it or approve it. This is very common way to make request. There can be thousands of reasons for making petitions. The concern for writing a petition may be public or private. A petition can be handwritten or on line.   If one files a handwritten petition then it gets very less exposure as it is usually read by people at local level but an on line petition can be read by people at global level and more and more can sign it and can give their approval for it.

  There is no set pattern for handwritten petition but for on line petition there is simple and set format which can be understood easily. While making handwritten petition one writes it according to once comprehension which may not be understood by others easily.
• Categorization is tough:-
  On line petitions can be categorized easily as there is arrangement for this on Internet but it is difficult to categorize handwritten petitions.
