Starting a petition?

So, you think it’s time for you to start a petition? You have to be certain that when you do take the initiative to start a petition, the problem concerns not only yourself but a group of people because you would need the help of these people so your petition would become a success.

In this day and age, people find it more effective if they start an online petition so that more people could log in and add their names to the list of people who agrees to the cause of the petition. You may start your petition by placing a table somewhere people would be frequenting and you could create banners and placards to catch the people’s attention. If they believe in the purpose of your petition, they will sign up so it’s very important that you get your message across. When your purpose is not selfish and is logical and goes beyond your own personal gain, then most likely, you will get lots of support. Be honest with your petition and don’t leave anything gray. That means, you should not hide anything or else when this would get exposed, the success of your petition would be definitely compromised. Honesty is the key. No one wants to be fooled especially when their signatures are at stake. You are asking for these people to include their names so it’s important they know exactly what they are signing for.

Basically, if you want to start a petition, you need to know if your cause is really important and that your voice really needs to be heard. You also need to know how to make your voice heard. You should come up with a plan so you’ll get more people to sign your petition. The more signatures you would gather, the more significance you can make. If your petition is only signed by just a small percentage of the people concerned your petition would be rejected and the petitionee won’t even take any actions in congruent to your request.
