Nobody signs your
petition? What’s next?
If you made a petition with the best intention for your community but nobody dared to sign the petition then there must be some problem with the petition you made. Ask yourself, is the petition really intended to help the people as a whole or is it just intended to satisfy your own needs? There is really a big difference and you must know whether or not the petition only answers your own personal request or is it something that concerns the majority of your community. If your answer is still yes then you must read your petition and ask yourself this, if this petition was shown to you would you sign it? If your answer is NO then you already know why nobody signs the petition. If your answer is YES then you must have a big ego problem. The fact is, your petition is still empty and nobody cared to sign it. So you have to find a solution to this problem. How? By reinventing it. Yes, the answer to your petition problem is REINVENTION.
Since there are no signatures yet, you can still redo the petition and make it a lot more creative. If you can’t handle it or you don’t have the creativeness that is needed then ask someone to do it for you. The petition needs to be alluring and without the right words to lure people into signing it, then your petition would still end up with no signatures or not enough signatures to make it a success.
If you already reinvented your petition by making it more creative, make sure you reinvent your way of seeking signatures as well. How? Well, it depends. If you ask for signatures by putting up a booth then you have to liven up your area so that it could attract more people to check out your petition. You need to lure the people in so you could convince them that your petition is really worth their signatures. If you get the right formula for the petition then you would end up with lots of signatures as long as your petition can truly convince the people that it would definitely make a difference and that the reason for the petition concerns everyone.
If you made an online petition, you must also follow the same steps as stated above. Reinvent the petition itself and change the way you ask people for signatures. Perhaps you could post the link through billboards or newspapers if sending out the link through emails won’t work. Post the link to places that people frequent in or publish it on the daily newspaper where people would read it.
You need to be creative and you must think as one with the community. That means you have to ask yourself too if you would sign the petition once it had been presented to you. If you are truly convinced the petition can get you to sign it then make the rest of the community feel the same way. Market your petition as if it’s your company’s product and you will surely get plenty of signatures on it.
