Educational Petitions

Petitions are the result of one’s anger and disappointment against mistakes and unfortunate incidents happening in the society. These petitions can be oral, written or online. Online petitions are increasing rapidly with the youth today, because the process of creating petitions and the time taken to action these petitions are faster compared to the manual process. Petitions are addressed to people in power, or government officials of the wrong things happening in the society. The common man has the right to create petitions and highlight the mistakes in the society.

Petitions can be of many types. There are civil petitions, administrative petitions, education petitions, health petitions and many more. However, the most common petitions that arise in today’s youth are the education petitions. Education is the field where they experience things first hand and come to know of the atrocities happening here. The unfortunate incidents happening in the education sector motivates the youth to submit petitions against the wrong doers and punish them. Education petitions are created as a result of the youth enlightenment.

There are many unfortunate incidents happening in the education sector today. It starts right from the school levels and goes on to the professional institution levels. Mistakes happen everywhere and it is only fair to bring this to light, so that these mistakes don’t get repeated in future. At the school level, there are problems like the children being overburdened with too many books, having to sit up late hours in the names of extra classes and tuitions, lack of time for any outdoor sports, lack of any creative activity for the children; in short, a lack of basic acceptable education system in place for the children to equip themselves mentally and academically. Too much of focus is given to examination and marks and the child’s mental, emotional and creative quotient is curbed, thus making the child less employable in the future job market. At higher secondary levels, the children are forced to take up extra coaching to maintain the school’s reputation for high percentages thereby not paying heed to the individual interests of the children. The children succumb to the pressure posed by the educational institutions and the parents of these victims should be aware of their right to write petitions to eradicate these unfortunate incidents. A fool proof education system can be brought in place as a result of these educational petitions thus improving the quality of the children.

At colleges and professional institutes, preference is given to the caste, the background of the student, the financial affordability, recommendation etc, than the student’s actual intelligence. Recommendation letters and caste certificates speak more than the mark sheets of the students these days. This leads to bias in education and the really talented student gets to beg in the street, whereas the below average students makes it to the top institute. Educational petitions help bringing in harmony between entrance into quality institutes and marks secured by the student. Students and parents should be aware that educational petitions can cause a real change to the current fraudulent patters and bring about a positive impact on the whole educations system.
