Still most of the people don’t realize its importance and create illogical and unscrupulous petition just to distract the mind of youth and the whole world.

Irrespective of the purpose and motto behind a petition, people launch their petition online without even knowing their consequences. There are hell lots of weird petitions circulating on internet everyday. These weird petitions are not even bringing down the value of petitions, rather making it a fun stuff among people. The weird petitions which you come across on internet sometimes have incredibly large amount of signatures. Ease with which a petition can be created on internet has raised the intensity of those weird petitions pertaining to totally irrelevant issue neither concerning the welfare of a people or community. People initiate such petitions just to have an idea of how many people around the world think same way without even knowing the fact that their petition won’t ever reach to the authority who can actually act upon it.

While surfing through internet you will find lots of weirdest petitions that have been circulated in past and have achieved booming signatures. Sometimes the bloggers or webmasters circulate such petition on internet so as to get a huge traffic and page impression of their websites. Unknown to the fact that these petitions are indirectly fulfilling the personal interest of the webmasters; people keep on signing such petitions just to have fun. There are several petition sites on internet which offer free services to create your petition, eventually promoting people to start any such weird petition they wish. Petitions asking for people to sign if they want their favorite singer to perform a concert in their area, petitions about your favorite TV shows, or petition about brining back the 80’s are some of the weird petitions that has nothing to do with the welfare of humanity. They are just being started to satisfy the people carving for entertainment.

For some of the people these petitions evaluate their freedom of speech as such they can start any kind of petition they wish to. But that’s not the fact; petition defines a request against any injustice taking place in our society. Petition is meant to bring the desired change in a system so as to benefit the community, society or the humanity. Despite of such weird petitions, still a petition with a genuine purpose and cause get its recognition by large section of society.

Today a person who puts up a petition wants as many number of signatories as possible. Who are these signatories and why are they so important? A signatory is a person who signs the petition affirming his support to the petition. These are people who truly believe in the cause of the petition. The more the number of signatories to the petition the greater will be the impact of the petition. It is very important that if believe in a petition then we should definitely sign the petition.

Today every individual is very busy. The work pressure is so great that he has little or no time for himself or his family. Secondly take note of the fact that the petitioner does not have any selfish interest in bringing out the petition. A petitioner may bring out a petition to remove his enemy from office or he may do it for some future personal gain. It is very important to understand the motive of the petitioner. If we do not understand the real motive of the petition and sign it, then we fall prey to the evil scheme of the petitioner. The third point you should take into consideration before filing a petition is that you must truly believe in the petition.

A petition is a legal document and any signature that you make on a legal document should not be regretted later. You should go through the petition in great detail and only if you truly believe in existence of a problem, then and only then you should sign the petition. Don’t sign the petition just because your friend is signing the petition or someone has requested you to do so. You should sign the petition on your own free will because once you sign the petition you cannot later erase your signature from the petition.
