Dear Ms. Jolie:My name is Parisa Soleimani and I’m not sure if this email will get to you, but I pray to god it will. I am contacting you today not for any donations or any type of financial help and I am not from an organization. I am merely a daughter of two wonderful parents who raised me with the understanding of what is right and wrong when it comes to treatment of people in the world. I am not sure if you have seen this yet and I understand you have a lot of issues you are dealing with, so apologize if I have inconvenienced you. I humbly request a moment, if I may, to hear me out so you are aware as a mother… as a daughter… and as a human being what is happening in Tehran, Iran today. The video I am about to show you is very upsetting, so please take caution if you have children in the room. I myself have a very hard time sleeping after watching this. :(The footage takes place on the streets of Tehran on June 20th, 2009 during protests which you might be aware of. The language spoken is in Farsi, so please allow me to translate for you in detail what is happening, so you clearly understand the great impact it has left on me. Her name is Neda Soltani and she was 16 years old.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q3yKzh3B2kA man on the streets of Tehran screams “Someone take this person away!” as her father comforts her in a panic telling her to not be scared and calls out her name. Another man tells them to apply pressure on her to stop the bleeding as she starts to bleed out the mouth and through her nose excessively. As her father caress her face like she was a child once again… filled with hope in his heart that she will be ok and the wound was just a scratch….her eyes start to fade away… the bleeding worsens and covers her beautiful face. He screams out numerous of times “OHH..OH GOD!!” “Neda!!…Neda don’t be scared!!…don’t be scared!” when he is terrified himself of what he is witnessing. The protesters in the streets rush to help them and try to revive her, but it’s too late. The cry in the background brings chills down your body as you hear her father yelling “Stay!… Stay!..Neda Stay!…” and to “Open her mouth!” to breathe in oxygen. To be a father/mother and to witness your creation… your dedication.. your legacy.. your love.. your life.. your air ..dying in your arms is an image you will live with for the rest of your life. Even if tomorrow Iran is free, within your heart you are still a prisoner to the guilt and pain of a loved one passing. The images will replay… and the sounds will haunt you forever.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVnb95gTBPAI implore for your help and I will be greatly indebted to you for your kindness if you are able to make the world aware of these issues surrounding Iran today. The barbaric Islamic Republic will not avenge her death nor will anyone conduct an investigation to her murder, but I believe the world should. I understand she is just one of many who suffer everyday and others have more rights to awareness than Neda due to political cruelty. Neda is just one case, pregnant women are being beaten in the streets and kicked in the stomach or young children not older than 7 years old are beaten as well by the police. The exclusion of human rights in Iran is the awareness that I would like for you to help the world see. I am very lucky that I was able to flee Iran and I am very grateful that I live in a country that considers me as a person at least. Thank you for taking the time in reading my letter. I am so sorry if it was a tad long… I am just very passionate about the treatment of women and it’s my quest to cure the disease called vulnerability facing the world today. :)Sincerely,Parisa Soleimanip.s. I love you work btw and I am proud of what you have accomplished so far… keep up the great work! Thanks….
