Terrible coverage, again this year: For example, NBC commentators just stated that the Serena won her semifinal match ...."which will we air in its entirety after the Williams/Safina match." Why bother to watch now? Not only is it tape-delayed (unacceptable), but NBC commenators already told the viewers that Serena wins!! Terrible coverage (again this year). For example, ESPN showed only part of the Haas quarterfinal and then left for "contractual agreements." Either commit to showing the tennis matches LIVE and in the ENTIRETY, or let USA and/or The Tennis Channel televise everything. Give tennis fans the same respect as other sports; would the Super Bowl be tape-delayed? Would you announce who won prior to televising one of the upcoming playoffs? Of course not! Only when it comes to tennis is the tv coverage so bad. USA used to televise the US Open and they WOULD stay on the air until matches reached their conclusions. Will fans be faced with more of the Wimbledon-like coverage when it comes time for the US Open? It's too bad after 25 years of great coverage, USA will not be televising the US Open. Tennis fans need to unite and INSIST tennis matches be televised live and to their conclusion!! IN FACT, why not offer several channels for us to choose which matches we want to watch? Satellite carriers sometimes do this, but it should be done with more consistency and by Comcast, Dish AND Direct. Lastly, when I am watching the Federer/Haas match I hope NBC will carry it in its entirety and NOT tell us the winner of the upcoming match between Murray and Roddick. AND why weren't the 4 men's quarterfinal matches on 7/1/09 not shown in their entirety, instead of bouncing around from one to the other? The second week is SO vital to grand slams, and yet that is when the TV coverage is the poorest. HELP!!:angry:huh.giflaugh.gif

NBC should never have bid for live coverage if they did not intend to provide exactly that. To make matters worse they embargo'd ESPN2 from saying anything about the match that they NBC were going to air SIX HOURS LATER !!! This entire period of time us on the West Coast have had NO TV COVERAGE from 7AM to 10AM while the all-important TODAY and OPRAH shows aired. Please just back off your delayed coverage and leave ESPN and Tennis Channel and USA to their coverage.
