Every time I visit a Petco store the conditions of the reptiles gets worse and worse. It literally makes me sick to me stomach and something needs to be done about this. I think people should start organizing protests outside of the stores themselves... maybe then we won't be ignored!

We purchased our daughter a hamster from Petco for her 9th bday. It died 5 days later. Petco gladly gave us a new hamster. 2 days later the new hamster was lathargic. Petco paid for a visit to a vet and meds. For 2 more days the hamster progressively got more ill. I called my local store and was told that hamsters don't make good pets, this happens all the time & sometimes they get worse before they get better. On the 4th day my daughter (who was totally distraught) and I returned the hamster to the store where they gladly gave me my $10 back but didn't so much as apologize for all the problems we had! The manager on duty didn't even acknowledge my daughter who was crying hysterically because she was saying goodbye to her 2nd pet in 9 days!! I am an outraged mother and will never go to Petco again for anything!! And I will tell my story to anyone who will listen.
