Why do people allow a word to knock them down?

I am tired of the complainging. Why is there always someone complaing about the N word? Today I was watching TV and came to know of this post. Why? Standing up for something like this would be noble in the 1960's and 70's but it's almost 2010. Raising awareness of a word that has a label will never kill that word. The word is written throughout history, documented in books, movies, songs, and public restrooms. The only way to kill the word is to ignore it and relize that the people who us it are only belittling themselves.

But you must see the resurgence of the word in the new context and how it's so important to nip the problem in the bud. Young men (and women) are using this awful word in replacement of "friend," but it of course has no relation to friendship at all. The young (and some of the older) are being led to believe this word connects them, but a quick glance at the history you speak of would show them otherwise.People here are not simply "complaining," they are attempting to enact positive change in the world, and refuse to embrace a word that does nothing but push down a people pushed down too long already. The easiest way to topple a people is to do so from within - this is what the N word serves to do. To try to stop that from occuring is an honorable battle.Blessings.
