(7) Some of the strictest gun control laws are found in cities where the number of incidents of guns being used in violent crimes is the highest. Therefore, the Lautenberg amendment does not reduce incidents of domestic violence.

The Lautenberg amendment was not intended to specifically reduce the incidents of domestic violence but rather reduce the incidents of homicide. How could a Gun Ban for Individuals Convicted of a Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence reduce incidents of domestic violence? Removing a gun does not decrease the chances of a perpetrator using violence against their partner. How would banning guns of individuals convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence reduce incidents of domestic? Also how would banning guns of individuals convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence not reduce the risk of homicide associated with domestic violence?
