My name is Bailey and I'm twelve years old. Ever since I heard about Puppy Mills I've been disgusted and have wanted to stop it. Puppy Mills are the breeding of dogs of every age and breed and of them being kept in horrid conditions. Dogs are bred over and over again, and when they cannot reproduce any more, they are killed and left in piles, one dog atop another. There is barely any food, and they're lucky if they get water. These animals are stuffed into a cage with probably six or eight other dogs, and run around in their own "mess". Sometimes, the odgs will fight, sometimes getting an ear bitten off, sometimes killing each other. These animals spend their whole life in horrible conditions behind wired cages and sometimes would live their whole life without seeing sunlight because they are kept inside in heat and darkness/ Puppys' teeth rot to nothing and fall out, and they lose their fur. Puppies are seperated from their mothers when they are 4 wks and under years old. They are sold to Petlands and other pet stores.Petland and other pet stores buy continuoulsy from puppy mills as customers buy the puppies.
