I know that Danny Williams left Five-O in 1979, but heck, he could have come back, maybe after Steve McGarrett left, say, in the mid 80s.I think this sound better than Ed Bernero idea of Chris McGarrett, son of Steve - who, since Steve had no wife or kids in 1980 - could only be a maximum of 28 or 29 years old now. Head of Five-O? NO. Member of Five-O? Sure! (Williams, if based on the age of MacArthur age, would have been 30 or 31 at the start of the original series.)What say anyone else?By the way, yes, Mr. MacArthur (72 soon) is alive, and he has a website: jamesmacarthur.com/

Pardon the errors in my post - error messages forced me to make a lot of edits on the fly. This is not a very user-friendly website, is it?

I've seen that site, and there's plenty of material. By the way, you're right about how old Danny would have been at the start; he was born 12/8/37, and at the start, he (as would MacArthur) would have been 30, turning 31 as of the outing of 12/12/68, "By The Numbers." He would increment by one more year for each of his remaining 10 post-birthday episodes in December, until becoming about 41 in early 1979 (which is the year in which he left).

McGarrett had a sister who had a little boy. I think his name was Tommy in an episode. I think it would be more realistic to have Tommy come back as the head of Five-O or at least involved with it somehow. Maybe second in command or something? Anyway, Tommy could assume his famous uncle's last name because it's his mother's maiden name of McGarrett. what cha think? By the way, I am in total favour of having James MacArthur in the new Five-O! he was most of the reason I watched the show!!

you need the head of hawaii five-o to be someone in their early 40s or mid 40s. So, using McGarret kid may not be practical to timeline. What may make sense is having a nephew or relative. You could do a transition by having Danny Williams be as consultant to Hawaii Five-O and do cameos in the show. If would still go with the four member team, plus mcGarrett. I also believe there is a movie schedule to be made as well.

Agreed Bruddah. For continuity, you MUST have James Macarthur. I still favor James Macarthur as the Governor. Wish me luck as I am writing a letter to the new showrunners. Thanks for your support. Book 'em KD McGarrett
