I support this petition. Please help us connect to our heritage. The release of this census would assist the descendants of those who emigrated to connect with the descendants of those who stayed, promoting stronger ties between Ireland and the rest of the world. By the time 100 years has been reached, it may be too late.
I strongly support this petition. Releasing the census would be a smart move that would help to harmonise and unite the Irish people and the global Irish community. Please don't delay, and please don't let us miss out on this opportunity to allow all Irish folks to enjoy their common heritage. Adv. David Mitchell, Cape Town, South Africa
I strongly support this petition. My paternal Great-Grandmother, Eliza Fletcher, was born in Buncrana, Donegal, Ireland where in the Parish Church in the Parish of Lower Fahan, on March 18, 1858 she Married my Great-Grandfather, William Moore. That's about all I know of her. I would sincerely hope the opening of the 1926 census would help me to contact some of my Irish relatives. Eric W. Moore.
I support this petition. All of my maternal Ancestors came from Ireland. After spending a week in the National Archives and Library, as well as local family history centers in Tipperary and Carlow a couple of years ago, I found Irish records very difficult to research even with very competant help.
I support this petition.
There is no information from family when great grandparents died, and such information from a census would help determine the era. Other relatives are missing links also. Please, please release the 1926 census now.
I support this petition. I am not getting any younger and I would like to extend my research on my mother and grandparents. The release of the census would help.
I am a genealogist and a travel agent - currently bringing tourists to Ireland to do reasearch. Ireland's records are among the most difficult in the world to access. We bring money to your economy - more would come if they could locate where their families came from. I support this petition.
