I very much support this petition. There are too few sources available to genealogists with Irish ancestors. Access to the 1926 census would help to offset the destruction of Ireland's 19th century census records.
Modern census data is very detailed but that from 1926 is virtually no more detailed than the 1911 census and it was released only fifty years after it had been compiled!!
I support this petition. Historical research in Ireland is being frustrated and compromised by the relative lack of public records in this country. It is a matter of public interest that the 1926 census be made available in the near future to researchers of Ireland social and cultural past.
I support this petition. This information is now available in other records but would be valuable to genealogists everywhere to add to their data base.
I am in favour of this for genealogical purposes. Finding ancestors is very difficult as it is and the 1926 would allow me to locate my great-grandparents.
I support this petition. Both my grandparents were born in Ireland and I would appreciate having information on their families. For Genealogical research.
I support this petition. Especially for genealogical reasons. This will support local economies having genealogical centres and travel related economies.
