I support this petition. It would very helpful to my research if I could get access to the 1926 census as my ancestor's name is very common. I understand that the '26 census will tell me where in his home county he was born.

By gaining access to this census, it would greatly enable me to find more details on my great grandparents and their children.
I support this petition. When are the Irish going to get sense and follow Scotland's visionary lead and make records available online on a pay per view at reasonable rates basis. Acone, Acone
I support this petition. As the grandaughter of Irish emigrants who had little contact with the family who remained in Ireland it will be of immense help to me.
I support this petition. My ancestors came from just outside Dublin and moved to England in the late 1840s. I'm told the last of the family in Ireland died there in 1927 but I have no details so this Census would be of immense value to my research.
I support this petition.I cannot emphasise enough how important this census is to those of us tracing our Irish roots. The lack of available records of our Irish ancestors, make this census even more valuable particularly to those of us unable to travel to the Republic. I hope the government will support the early release of these documents and waive the 100 year rule so we can find our ancestors before we become to infirm ourselves. If the Irish government sets a precedence for early release than maybe the British Government will follow and ammend their ruling also to 70 years. So many families around the world rely on internet access for historical records that I hope the 1926 census will be made available on-line
I support this petition. As one of the many dispossessed Irish overseas I want to know my roots - with that information I will be encouraged to visit my roots.
I support this petition. It is important that since so many earlier censuses have been destroyed either accidentally or deliberately, as much information should be shared as possible.
