I support this petition. We have a right to know where we come from. The longer the information is kept from us the more likely it is that people will begin to forget.
I support this petition.
Due to the loss of Irish records we the people of Ireland are at a disavantage is tracing our rich history. As faimly histroy is best traced back from the present this is open many fruitful fields. As the USA records for the same period are open the 1926 census will provide a vital link and will MOST CERTAINLY boost tourism as more will come to seek their roots in the old country
I support this petition, because I am a member of several of the oldest families of the historic town of Kinsale, Co. Cork.
My family tree research has come to a dead end pre-1864 due to the lack of data that our State has in it's archives. We are a new open society and more broad-minded Ireland, and YES it is time to make all records available to the public and not have them locked away in dark rooms. Taoiseach, please support this petition and make the 1926 census available to your fellow citizens. We read a lot about the Irish laying claim with pride to various Presidents of the USA, why not let us claim back our ancestors in the research of our own Irish genealogy.
Thank you.
I support this petition. It is very important to have access to records which can help us trace our roots and having information covering 1901,1911 and 1926 would enable ro track families during very turbulent times.
I support this petition. I would fully support placing all Irish Census on-line, it would be a huge support for all those interested in family history and would really raise the profile of Irish genealogy
