It is so good that we accept the responsibility and come together to do all we can to help the children. But we also have to make our voices heard and hold governmaent leaders accountable. They spend our hard earned money - one bottle of wine they buy will feed a child for a month!
I have fostered over 60 children in the past 6 years and adopted 5. I have 7 children now. I'm the VP of our local Foster and Adoptive Associaiton and the VP of the State Associaiton and now the hlding the Adoptive Chair position. I love children and just want the best for them.
Jones I support this petition only if the state isn't involved and that the children (as long as they're not in danger) stay with the parents as long as the parents and family get the proper guidance and counseling. And if it's an issue of a dirty house, cooking, finance, or organisation in their home, etc., that the organization have a system where there are people that come into the homes to help families get back into a schedule of cleaning, cooking, finance, safety tips, sanitary tips, etc. Because sometimes when there are hardship that is happening in a home, these areas can be neglected and all the family needs is help to get back into organization, again. And sometimes it's just because they were raised and need proper training. Either way, children shouldn't be taken that not only costs more money for tax payers than just to help families in their homes, but it is also more benficial for the family and children upgrowing. It will help a child grow to be a much more healthier adult. I know these things because I have been a family advocate for over 9 years and know the hardships that happens to children and families. Especially the children who end-up abused and/or dead by the foster care agentcy's. Not to mention the children being transfered to more than one foster parent as if they're animals from one unhealthy abused home to the next. Because remember, a lot of the children who really need to removed from their homes based on serious abuse end up abusing other children who have been placed in the foster home. So a lot of the times, a child is more likely to be more in danger in a foster home situations than for the child just to stay home so the family as a whole can get proper guidance and counseling. I have been to too many funerals where children have died from abuse caused by foster parents who are still foster parents and even allowed to adopt children than to see this type of abuse to continue
Children are our future. Kids with nothing need our help, not because we feel sorry for them, but because they need our help. By helping them, we help ourselves. By giving ourselves away, we find ourselves in the process.
I support helping children in any capcity, especially the underprivileged and those with special needs. Thank you for this opportunity and what you are doing!
