I have been a dedicated Castlevania fan for years. The best of times was when it was 2D, and it should stay that way. Please allow the goodness that is CV to be honored in it's 2D glory.
Some games simply aren't possible in anything but 2D, and the mediocre 3D Castlevania's are proof of this. We've got the hardware to finally create some amazing 2D games, MAKE IT HAPPEN! Weren't Symphony of the Nights sales enough of an indication that Vania fans love 2D games on consoles?
I would definitely buy a 2D installation of Castlevania. We desperately need another new next gen updated graphics Castlevania. With the next gen technology it would be capable of multiple layering of the backrounds and higher resolution sprites.
I would like to see a 2D Castlevania for the PS2 just like Contra Shattered Soldiers did with those beautiful grafics, IGA hear ours voices DO IT PLEASE.....
i want castlevania back into 2d, i loved the old games such as symphony and sc4 and i would like to see a dracula x:rondo of blood the pc engine in the U.S.
I've been waiting for the chance to voice my desire for more 2d Castlevania, and now I finally can. Symphony is still one of the best games I've ever played, and though I love the GBA titles, Symphony surpasses them in nearly all aspects simply due to the hardware. Castlevania works best as a side-scroller, and to see one utilizing the power of current or next-gen consoles would be a dream come true. Whether 2d sprites or 3d polygons (like Contra: Shattered Soldier), we need a side-scrolling Castlevania. The fans will love you for it.
Please give us a new 2D Castlevania. I'm a fan since 15 years now, and I miss the old generation of games. Symphony of the Night was incredible. Only the best!
Ive seen how good a 2d castlvania can be on both portables and consoles . Viewtiful joe did great so whu shouldnt castlevania ?
It should play out to both 2d and 3d .
A new 2D CV would be awesome. If it's not gonna be a new game, I'd be more than happy to have a Simon super mega collection, or a Dracula X remake. Looking forward to it, and the more old-school the better!
I haven't had the opportunity to play SOTN, but I have played, and love, the GBA games. A 2D Castlevania is the kind of game that would make me buy a system, much like Metroid Prime did.
SOTN is my favorite game of all time. the gba games have never even come close to touching SOTN. SOTN still goes for 25$ at gamestop/EB, making it one of the most expensive games for ps1 available for purchase. the game goes for even more at a non corporate game store. PAY ATTENTION TO US. 2d sidescroller with next gen graphics, and SOTN style gameplay For The Win!
Hey I have been a HUGE fan of the Castlevania games ever since I was a little kid. Although I have enjoyed the newer 3d stories/games...I still really really love the old 2D games. Sypmphony of the Night completely changed the way I look at gaming and what I expect from a game. I beleive there is still a market for it, and also it would be EXTREEMLY refreshing to be able to play a 2D castlevania on my TV rather than playing it on the small GBA screen. (I mean sure you can play it on your gamecube, but the picture quality just plain sucks when the screen from the GBA is enlarged and put onto your TV. Castlevania posesses a gothic, awesome beauty and quality to it and most of that is very well captured in the backgrounds of the 2D games. that combined with just the right music is better for me than watching any movie. so PLEASE do make another 2D castlevania. I have a feeling that there are many of us Castlevania Fans out there that would pick up a copy.
thanks for your Time

Mr. Koji Igarashi , Symphony of the Night is such an amazing game. The graphics, the storyline, the artwork is all amazing and beautiful. Please don't convert to the 3D side. We need more 2D Games. We need more 2D Games. Also if you guys need to think of any other ideas for a 2D Game. You guys should try to get Rondo of Blood to america. Or make more Castlevania Games for GBA.
Like the other person on the petition said. Don't do it for the marketing, do it for the fans.
Keep it real and stay true.

Please continue with the original castlevania style, do the games for the fans not only to sale, that just makes games go awful like other companies practically killed the good memories of excellent games, you will understand that.
Please don't leave the real fans of castlevania and if its possible try to do game like an anthology of castlevania games like one with the first five castlevanias, it would be a nice detail for the fans and a good gift for the new players that should know how castlevania its meant to be.
Thanks.
heh, i like that idea, and as for the creative ideas, thats what developers are paid to do. SORRY about getting konami and capcom mixed up, it was early as hell. but by posting your ideas we can help those creative developers.
This is truly odd. Please read my post.Date Posted: 8/25 10:29am Subject: do you support this idea? if so we could encourage the makings of another great 2d castlevania!
so im posting this to see how much fan base there is out there for the 2d classic,Castlevania Symphony Of The Night. If there are enough people out there that are lacking the classic feel of a great 2d castlevania like sotn in recent gaming, i encourage responses that express a wide range of artistic encouragement for a new chapter in this saga. I personally believe that if enough fanbase is found, we can simply contact capcom with our request. Being the way gaming is now, it would be simple for creators to make a game like this again, there would be no reason not to try. So again i encourage you to post all the things you would like to see in the new SOTN2...
as for me, I would love to see..
The castle itself even more expanded.
More storyline, but not an over abundance.
More weapons but the same style of equipping.
Same style of orchastrated music.
Maybe costomizing where your level up points go to.
More mythical enimies.
More fun secrets to stumble upon.
More spells and relics.
I am working very hard on this so please do me a favor and post your ideas. Thank you for your input. ~email me at pimpofaphrodite@hotmail.c om if you have any comments. Pimpofaphrodites on AIM if you would like to further discuss this.
again, thank you.
Please Mr.Igarashi don't forget 2D. SCIV for snes was amazing and is a perfect example of the excellence that is castlevania in 2D.
And if it isn't too much trouble, a port of rondo of blood to US shores would be nice. The fans deserve it.
I really think that another 2D Castlevania is what the consoles need. I still play SotN all the time. I dont find the 3D ones to be so compelling as SotN. I would be thrilled to see how a 2D CV would rock our world! But no matter, i'm still your most loyal follower Koji!
Symphony of the Night was and still is THE best Castlevania ever and ranks insanely high when compared to ANY game. Another home console, 2D castlevania would be one of the greatest things to happen...ever.
So much more can be explored and appreciated in the 2-d world! Its 100% different from 3-d, and great for the true fans of the greatest video game series ever!!!
Castlevania should stay in 2D. while there are cool games like Lament of innocence and the GBA castlevanias None of them could surpass the legendary Symphony of the Night. I would like to see another Aria or Symphony.
castlevania: symphony of the night was so powerful and influential on so many different levels (graphics/animation, huge amount of weapons, easy to pickup gameplay, etc.) and it would be a travesty for the series not to grace the consoles again as a 2d title.
you guys seem to forget that making one really impressive 2d game is one hard task! Could you imagine though castlevania 80 frames per second in 2d that would be such a compliment to 2d gaming. I think they should make castlevania real awesome, not so much the graphics but comparing to games like the remade original resident evil the A.I are creepy and unsettleing lol but it would play alot like castlevania 64 but less aged looking in comparison to 64 version, but like anything I will buy a 2d castlevania for a next gen totally! pssst revolution lol
castlevania has always been great in 2d
end i still play castlevania4 these days .
it is still fun to swing around in that castle with mij stereo full
symphony is also fun but i prefure something like 4
If Europe doesn't like the 2D CastleVania games, then why sell in there meanwhile a lot fans like me want more of the ORIGINAL CastleVania, 3D its ok but its not the same, some game should not change their original style even if it looks "better", thats why I love CastleVania Symphony of the Night. Use the pontential of the home consoles to do a very very big game, not just a disk or catridge full of graphics and just a small game that can be finished in less than 10 hours, I think it would be very good to invest more in a bigger game and not only in graphics if thats the problem.
Please continue with Castlevania style from Simon's Quest or even better the excellent Symphony of the Night
Please please remake castlevania 2: Simon's Quest or Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse... by far my two favorites in the series... Keep them 2D! SOTN was gorgeous, keep it like that 3D loses a lot of gameplay because of mechanics... keep the games fun and replay value up by introducing unlockable characters and/or levels!
I think the castlevania shall come out for the GBA. Hopefully just about the graphics like SOTN.The problem is new players these days. All they want is good graphics dispite how ever cheap the game may be. Please make another game like SOTN with Alucard for GBA and if not for all system maybe even the old ones like N64.
Castlevania is an excellent game either way it follows, I enjoyed Lament of Innocence, but the 2D games are the best! If you do make it for console, don't make it console exclusive! And if you make a sequel, i'd say, you should redo Castlevania 2: Simon's Curse, that is a great game and is quite underrated.
The 2D Castlevania games are some of the most fun games I've ever played. Keep the fun, don't ruin a good thing, and show the world how much fun the old-school 2D games are!
I have been fan of Castlevania for years!!!. 2D is just something that take us old school fans to these memories, not the abominable N64 versions. By the way when is Elizabeth Bartley coming again as a villianess?
