YES!
Please bring back the joy of 2d gaming! It was so much better back then, and it needs to be just like the old style castlvania games for it to be a wide seller with the fans!
Symphony of the Night was genius....and with a PS# being 10X as fast as the PS2, it surely needs something, so long as Castlevania is presented in a fresh/genius way...2D or 3D doesn't matter!
Castlevania is better in 2d rather than 3d. I think that Castlevania shouldn't compromise for great graphics. It's never about graphics that people liked the game, it's about the gane itself.
I think it would be a great shame to end the 2d castlevanias and to that end it would be awesome to see the series continue as beautifully as dawn of sorrow on the DS. The games on gba have been amazing so far and with the leap to the DS things have never looked better.
Id love to see this continue on this machine, keep the classics coming
If Europe doesn't like 2D gaming, they can all go to hell for all I care. The best Castlevania titles are almost always 2D and it would be a capital sin to try to fight what is good and right.
Trust me. A 2D game would automatically go gameplay first, then graphics 2nd. If you make the gameplay superb, AND the graphics, it'd be better than even Symphony of the Night.
While 2D does not automatically pwnzor 3D, Castlevania works best as a sidescroller. KEEP IT THAT WAY! :D
bring another Sequel of SOTN and Dracula X Rondo of Blood as 2 in one Game for the PS2, or better yet a "Castlevania Collection" like Capcom did With Rockman Collection
The continuation of the 2D Castlevania games would be awsome. Many of the older ones in 2D, such as SOTN, are better than some of the newer Castlevania games. And yes, a Castlevania collection would be awsome.
A 2D Castlevania on current hardware would be breathtaking.
2D games seem to be better in my mind than ones in 3D its not just castlevania games that made a bad transition but games in general just arent as good.
there is also no reason for game in 2D to cease because 2D is an artform as well. its like asking wether sculptures are superior to paintings!
Castlevania would be going the wrong way if it went 3D. Stopping the 2D games is not in any way a good move. In my opinion so far only Lament of innocence has made the jump to 3D and be playable but still lacking to the 2D counterpart's. 3D would be taking Castlevania from us
Please bring back 2d Castlevania, the way it was supposed to be. None of this card combat system, just old school whips and the original weapons, no more anime crap, maybe even a revamped version of the original castlevania with some new levels and bosses, please!!!
Please make the good old Castlevania's come back! I would like to see the BELMONTs get back too, even if with the time elapsed, scripts should be quite dry for them now... But people are right for another point: STOP MAKING FU**ING ANIME/MANGA CASTLEVANIAs!!!!!!! What does this terrible Dawn Of Sorrow intro mean??? Castlevania's NOT Yu-Gi-Oh!!
Castlevania represents more than a simple saga, it belongs to home gaming history now and it had never stopped improving through 2D gaming, which is THE Castlevania playing mode. So please make it going on...
Mr. Igarashi, please bring Castlevania in 2D back to the consoles!! You created my favorite game of all time with "SOTN" and ever since then I've wanted more... I have been a hardcore follower of the series for many years and EAGERLY look forward to another 2D console game! Please consider this. If the game won't do well in Europe, it could just be released in Japan and North America maybe? Anyways please consider this... Thank you very much.
I like a lot the Castlevania Series. It's a great idea to keep making them in 2D, i think the 2D have much of the original essence of the Castlevania series. keep going!!
Oh, and MAKE A CASTLEVANIA COLLECTION PLEASEEEE ;_;!!!
Thanks Koji Igarashi for this game.
SIMONS QUEST REMAKE!!!!! BUT MORE BIGGER , MORE TOWNS MORE ITEMS , MORE SEARCH, BUT IN 2D!!!!!!!!NOT ONLY INSIDE THE CASTLE ADVENTURE , OUTSIDE IN THE WOODS AND TOWNS TOO!!!!
CASTLEVANIA WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY ASS.
IGARASHI FU.CK YOU!! I WANT BACK THE OLD CASTLEVANIAS (NES AND SNES)NOT YOUR FU.CKING ANIME MANGA STYLE CASTLEVANIAS CREATED BY YOU. I WANT 2D CASTLEVANIAS!!!BELMONT CLAN IS THE BEST FUCK THE REST!!!!
NOT ALUCARD NOT SOMA NOT HECTOR NOT SHIT!!! BELMONTS!!! HAIL!!!!!
Castlevania has long been one of my favorite game series of all time. It would be terrible to see the magic and beauty of the 2D games lost beacuse 3D is so hot right now. I love and enjoy 2D gaming, and it would a a sad day were it to leave.
Castlevania will always have a special place in my heart and I can hardly wait to see another 2D Castlevania for home consoles with lots of secrets, mythical monsters and majestic melodies a lá Micheru Yamane. I must say, what would Castlevania be without its marvelous music and mysterious places? More 2D, more Koji, more Micheru, more Belmonts, more Alucard, more Castlevania.
I humbly beseech you, Mr Igarashi, give us 2D Castlevanias, not just one game but many new 2D adventures, please.
Thank you in advance / yours truly, Viktor Mars
And P.S. I come from Sweden, which lies in Europe, and thus I can easily say that Europe loves 2D, that is a fact!!! D.S.
Amidst the torrent of 3D games flooding the market these days, there are a precious few series that still reward oldschool gamers with unadulterated 2D goodness... And most of them have recently been confined to the handheld consoles. For anyone who appreciates the nostalgia and simple beauty of pixels over polygons, the Castlevania games have always been a haven for good, enjoyable, straightforward 2D platforming/RPG gameplay. And while the recent GBA and DS titles have been superb, how great would it be to see a brand new 2D Castlevania game on the next-gen consoles. Good enough to buy, I say! This is one certain future customer pledging his support for Castlevania's long-awaited return to the consoles in all its two-dimensional splendor.
Ah, Castlevania. When mentioned I think of Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night. The Lush graphics, tight gameplay, Great soundtrack, Nicely detailed environment (3d and 2d elements compliment each other well). Intriguing characters and Kick-ass main character (besides NPCs). I know that 2d is where Castlevania belongs just along the lines of Street fighter. 3d is ok. But the way things are with the recent 3d castlevania, i'd say keep it 2d.
Much like Mega Man and Sonic, Castlevania is a series which thrives in 2D. It is a series based around gorgeous artwork, haunting music and precision gameplay. More powerful hardware does not necessitate fancy 3D graphics and gameplay. We should look upon this new generation of consoles and future consoles as a challenge to continually improve upon the 2D standard.
I just want to say that castlevania in 2d is the best, Castlevania sotn is the best game i have ever played in my life and i love 2d games and i live in Europe. Sotn is so very hardto get, all my friends love it here in sweden so i suggest that koji should make another 2D Castlevania for the consoles those castlevanias ROCKS!!!
I hate to say it, but Castlevania DOESN'T transfer well to 3D, it just differs too much from the format we know and love. And handheld is just a little too...small for me. We need another console 2D Castlevania asap!
As long as there are Castlevainia or Akumajo Dracula games. Then I will play games. When the series ever retires so will I. Thank you far all the all the hard work. Words cannot ever say thank you enough.
Well, since we need to be heard then listen well. The 2D is how Castlevania started and it was part of the formula that made it great and innovative. While the most recent addition to the series "Castlevania LOI" was good, I think Castlevania was at its best in the 2D platform. Symphony of the Night was probably the best of the 2D's to date, but I think that a new 2D Castlevania game could be even better. When you aren't focused on the technology, the story becomes better, and I think that's true of nearly every game out there these days. Yeah, we may not be biggest share of the market out there, but any game with real content and story is going to make up for the lack of 3D and will carve out its own impressive market share. When I can't find an origial Symphony of the Night game for cheaper than $70--even on Ebay, that should say something about the value and quality of both the game and the platform. I remember when they used to say "Aw, not ANOTHER 2D game!" except that now it's "Aw, not another 3D game, don't they have anything else to offer?" I have to agree. Personally, I hated 3D when it first came out because it looked so bad, and many of the 3D games still look that way. I don't see where 3D has enhanced many things other than visuals. And while it's made new types of playability and potential choices in gameplay execution, there's just no real innovation the or exceptional stories these days. Even Final Fantasy is starting to get old. I've yet to find a newer game that has much re-play value either--unless it's a shooter or fighting game and those get old really fast. Please do something about this! Bring back the 2D stuff and make it engrossing, enjoyable, and put some re-play value back in! I think Castlevania as a series not only needs this, but has an opportunity to show up most 3D games out ther
CastleVania shows the best of 2D games, on whatever platform they've been on. And there's still a demand for 2D games, no matter how flashy and technically advanced consoles get... Gameplay styles shouldn't die because technology advances. If it was good back then, it can still be today.
I have been playing Castlevania since the Nintendo days. I absolutly love all of the Castlevenia games, but my alltime favorite are the 2D console games.
I would also like to see a compilation of Castlevania 1,2,3,4 and Rondo of blood with Symphony of the night.
2D is the way to go.
2D Castlevania's still have as much potential for being loved as do 3D Castlevania's. In fact the same can be said of any other long running series that started in 2D. I would just as soon play even an old 2D, such as an NES game, as I would a 3D, so long as the game is fun. Anyone who thinks that just because a game is more than 5 years old and is not 3D that the game is not worthwhile is a fool.
