A 2d castlevania would be great! among this new-age of "Awesome" effects and 3-d Enviroments, a 20d games is simply better suited. I mean, playing a gam elike devil may cry, it just isnt pretty. Castlevania always had stunning visuals, even on the Home computer, that last scene walking up the steps, the moon behind you, and clocktower's Large and imposing details. It was quite simply -Awesome-
Well i am a fan of castlevania series, and i can say that 3d castlevanias are not and will not be better than 2d. As a fan i can recommend few things like do not edit japanese version to fit american culture in any form exept for languaje of course. RPG ambient must stay, real instrumental music not dumb remixes, very dark and melancolic ambient as music. I'd like much more gore in the graphics. Dont forget heavy metal guitar riffs in the music. A history fulled with dead, pain, familiars killed brutality with explicit content and that kind of stuff. Maybe a new imponent protagonist, but able to use vampire killer whip, sword and shield at the same time, for some how reason.
Not stupid manga art like Dawn of Sorrow, but great high level or artwork like other games(Simphony, Lament etc.).A lot of beautiful and innocent women, A LOT.
A lot of accion to, to much more accion than games before, but not get to an extreme of forgeting the point of the game.
Beautiful backgrounds, impresive, bloody and melancolic ones, a depresive ambient some times, something that can makes you cry. Maybe a little things of horrror games, for make the experience more exiting, you now.
The fans need something diferent but with the esence of castlevania 2d RPG games.
Please dont disappoint us with an other game pretending being a clon of the greatest game of all, Shimpony of the Night, because it will never happen.
As one of the most loyal fans of 2d in all it's forms. It is my most ardent wish that Castlevania return to it's roots in its ORIGINAL form. SotN style is good but tired. Bring it back with various paths like 3 with detail and innovation of 4. Oh, and tons of secrets and unprecedented depth. K? K!
Money talks so here's a fact. I purchase each and every 2D castlevania game that gets released. I don't purchase 3D castlevania games because they don't feel like castlevania. Please make a 2D console castlevania.
PLEASE,MORE 2D CASTLEVANIAS OF THE OLD SCHOOL, NES AND SNES STYLE.
STARRING BELMONTS, BELMONTS, NOT ANIME MANGA SHIT!! NOT ALUCARD, NOT SOMA , BELMONTS!!!!!
please, we, the old school people want this thing to be true! ps2 is an stable console for this! don't wait for next gen. consoles with high prices! we knew we can expect a CV jewel from you!
the 3d castlevania's have all been dissapointing...please go back to making high quality 2d games!also a remake of dracula x: rondo of blood would be amazing!!!!
I grew up with Castlevania in 2 dimensions. If it goes away now, all I'll have is those memories from my youth and playing the same old games over and over again. I will continue to buy 2-D games as long as they are made. Even if a new story line avaids mr. Igarashi, at least a revamp of a few ancient titles (Castlevania 3 and 4 come to mind) would do some serious fan service and probably attract a new generation to these classics.
I would love to see another 2d game! especially a remake of DRACULA'S CURSE to highlight more of Grant, Sypha, and Alucard's talents!! as well as a nice script!
Hey, when you look at it, everything these days are going back to the "source". Take for exemple the new Mustang, it's a whole new car, but with all the greatness (Looks) of yesterday!
Let's think about Castlevania, with voice over, special effects, cut scenes, etc! Let's take what's best of everything, and make a new castlevania title, Action gameplay, Rpg level systems, lots of alternate ending, multiple characters! (Like Castlevania on Genesis!)
Here I am throwing ideas and I'm sure other fans would agree, I don't want this next title to be a rental, I want it to be a purchase, right off the shelves in full confidence of a game I could play over 10 hours/day and re-do it so many times like I did with Symphony Of The Night and Chronicles! Ho, and a personal favorite, Simon's Quest! (Oldies Goodies!)
Cheers!
Matt
All 2D CastleVanias have crushed the 3D ones, that speaks volumes about why another 2D CastleVania for consoles should be made. I'm sick of hand helds getting all the 2D Games when they could be done SO MUCH better on console hardware!
Damn, I love Castlevania series even in 3D. My favorite ones are Lament of Innocence and Symphony of the Night. I loved the drama and story of LOI, but the scenarios where so repetitive and boring. In SOTN I loved the way you used the 2D action with great 3D effects, but the game lost the drama when you fight Richter.
If you can put these 2 things together in a Castlevania console game, it will be AWESOME!!!
yes i do agree with my friends when it come's to 2d castlevania game's in which castlevania 2 is my most personal favorite in the old nes game library im a collector myself and would love to see another castlevania 2d game being made or even better a remake of dracula x
Symphony of the Night is simply one of the greatest games ever- perhaps simply because the gameplay took precendence over technological advance in its design.
I have no doubt that under Igarashi's direction the Castlevania series can have a new high point after SOTN, if only hardware better than the GBA is available.
However making a 2D game (which is what I was hoping for) on a new console is obviously a financial risk- please don't be deterred by that and get one underway anyway. almost 2,000 signatures isn't bad. Just make a great game and let the marketing department worry about the rest.
Everybody knows that Symphony of the night and Dracula X - Rondo of Blood truly captured the imagination of gamers everywhere. Beside those are without doubt the greatest Castlevania version we've ever seen. Good old-school action never dies. Please bring a 2D Castlevania back. We all agree that it needs a comeback.
Bringing back the 2-D style of gameplay that was so great in SOTN, along with awesome visual effect, good characters, and a great story, I think that would put Castlevania back on top of most of the fans' dream...of an ultimate Castlevania. 2-D is were Castlevania was born, and there for, should be able to master that domain.
While I'm not one of the many gamers that regrets the move to 3-D, I do regret the lack of 2-D gaming on modern consoles. If there were even just a couple of really good 2-D games coming out every year I'd be happy.
i think you'll be able to do so much more than SotN with the current or up and coming hardware. it would be fun to see how advanced the series could go in 2d. thank you for your time. D
2D is simply great for the Castlevania series.I would much rather see it than 3D. I believe you can put more detail in a 2D world. With 3D its limited, unless its big budget.Plus it brings me back to a more adquainted play value. With 2D on a console. You can put great anime cinematics and mindblowing 3D effects. And still have the old-school and new age experience.Damn sony and their "must be 3D" additude. And why can't we simply have 3D and 2D games like the zelda series creates.Open your eyes and mind people.
Oh, come on! I love 2-D stuff! I really miss it ... and now, let me list some really nice 2-D games for Playstation: Legend of Mana, Persona 2, Symphony of the Night, ...
C'mon! Don't let this gaming go out! Besides, I get a headache from the moving camera ...
Look at the past attempts at Castlevania in 3D, they're not terrible but they're not what we could call a great Castlevania experience. Even Lament of innocence which, don't get me wrong was very good however it was still lacking in the cassic castlevania feel. Yes there are a huge amount of these wanna be gamers who only buy games because the graphics look good, ignoring gameplay and so on. We know these losers won't be going any time soon I mean how else could the X box be so successful. We want to see more 2D castlevania's in the future!!
bring back sympthony of the night, 10 times bigger using the newer consoles capacity. moving on from my sega as a youngster, the 1st game i bought for my playstation was castlevania not even knowing what it was , just the fact is was 2d! best descision i ever made. now im a dedicated castlevania fan and sympthony of the night is one of the best games ive ever played and i kno many agree! you kno waht to do! BRING IT BACK!!!!!!
You know what would be the best kind of castlevania exploration game, would be a 2D one where you can unlock a secret playable character who would have their own story (related to the main) and equipment and relics that they can pick up as well. In Symphony of the Night terms, think of the Richter game but with a story involved and whip enhancements, etc.
In addition to any new CV Iga might have in mind, I still want that remake of Rondo of the Blood he promise/hinted at in the interview on the Chronicles disc. Here's my signature, signed with pride.
2D CASTLEVANIA IS THE BEST!!!! It's prettier and easier to pick up and play. It also takes you in deeper gameplay wise. At the end of the games 2D just gives me a greater feeling of satisfaction. KONAMI and Koji Igarashi, please let us enjoy another great 2D game for the home consoles.
I'm 27 years old and I've been playing Castlenia since I was 12. I have Played every single Castlevania and Castlevania-inspired game and nothing beats the 2D series. Symphony of the Night and Draculas Curse are simple works of art. Up to know the 3D Castlevania have felt like a cheap immitation of the original, Devil May Cry feels more like Castlevania than the N64's version or Lament of Innocence. PLEASE GIVE US ANOTHER 2D CASTLEVANIA FOR THE HOME CONSOLES, PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE!!
I totally think CV should be what it use to be...a side scrolling, 2D adventure. don't get me wrong. I do like SotN, CotM. but I liked Castlevania III. I think it was the form KONAMI had finally perfected. but really. I think the CV series was so much more spookier on 2D. you have to imagine that something is going to get you. its not half as scary when you know what it is. Like the Falloon(?) in SotN. that thing gives me chills man. sorry....anyways. Go Back To 2D!
One of the most succesful games in the Castlevania series has been Symphony of the Night, this is because 2D gaming just offers something more that 3D can't. Up to now 3D Castlevanias have failed because they haven't captured that feeling that only 2D has. Since this is all about money then what's to think about? 2D Castlevanias have sold more and have made more than 3D. Also, production costs would be lower and the revenue would be higher. BRING BACK CASTLEVANIA FOR THE HOME CONSOLES, well, except for nintendo 'cause games for that console don't sell :)
Castlevania started out as a 2D series and should remains a 2D series forever more. I mean, Castlevania's best games are its 2D ones, such as SotN, Dracula X, or the ones for GBA. Don't get me wrong, Lament of Innocence wasn't bad (although I never got a chance to play Castleania for the N64), but it felt like I was playing something different. You can have the same characters, have the same enemies, even have the same old Drac in a 3D Castlevania, but it just won't feel...normal. It'll feel like I'm playing a 3D Castlevania rip-off.
CV was mean't to be played in 2D, and should stay 2D.
Another 2D console Castlevania would be more than welcome. Especially with a more free exploration element ala Castlevania II, with the countryside and all. Cool idea, you guys should go back to it.
Castlevania : Symphony of the night showed that 2D games could be , by far, superior to many 3D games. So, another 2D castlevania
would be a great news.
I got a chance to meet IGA at E3 this year and he seemed like a very cool guy. I would really like to see his talents go toward a new 2D Castlevania for a home console... any console. I would most definitely pre-order and purchase it, and so would several of my friends. 2D Castlevania games are nothing short of legendary.
I've been a castlevania fan since I was 4 years old. I always loved the 2D castlevania's because thats how they should be. Now !8, i'm still a castlevania fan, but 3D just doesn't seem right for castlevania. So please make one as good as Symphony in 2d for the next consoles. Please!
I have always been sying it eversince the 3D consoles started: Some traditional 2D game just weren't meant for the 3D realm. I do enjoy playing the 3D castlevania games but they just don't quite give me (or anyone else) that good ol' fasioned feel of old school play. This is one of the best VG series to ever be invented and the console companies, in my mind "DO NOT" have the right to dictate to the fans or the game creators about what they think that "we" would like. So Mr.Igarashi; stand up to your oppressors and give the fans what you know all too well what they want.
-X
yes I would love to see a new Simphony of the night on xbox360; because I do not care if you do it in 2d or 3d I jost want to see a new Simphony of the night wiht Simphony music and rock style like castlevania on play station one. so please do it and thank you.
Taking 2d Castlevanias out of business is like taking the whole fun out of the game. 3D Castlevania is cool but it is the 2D games that bring in most of the fans and cash to the games. Besides Castlevania wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for those 2D games
Castlevania is one of the mosts prestigious 2d license.
A high definition 2d plateformeur with graphics up tothe kojima's artworks will definitivly attract every people. And not only the fans.
