Another European who wants a 2d castlevania and not 3d castlevanias. Come on, make it home console. Bring it on the gamecube. It's the only console without a castlevania!
It's an exellent game series. It deserves to have it's 2D gameplay expanded into the Console Market each gen. Of all the games, the 2D ones are still much more fun then the 3D ones and more cherished by gamers to boot. So doesn't it make sense to continue you these games on the Console Market as 2D. I love 3D games myself, including Castlevania games. But 3D castlevanias should go hand at hand with 2D games along the home console market to appeal to all fans.
2D castlevania, or bust! And it would be sweet to re-release a special edition of SOTN (with all the missing Saturn version bits, as well as Rondo of Blood! Please Konami!
Yep, it's been said so many times over... we NEED a new 2D CV game... and not only that, it really should be multi platform too. And the score needs (NEEDS) to be completely composed by Michiru Yamane. Her work on SotN was, and still is without parallel... truly the greatest OST ever devised.
symphony of the night is the high point of the series creating a game wthat would surpass that would take the same style of gameplay on a more powerful system than current handhelds ('cept maybe the psp :)). Just because a game is 2d doesn't mean it wont sell look at the 23582352725 2d variations of the street fighter games that have came out over the last few years.
The Heart of any game, is in its gameplay. Making a game fun should come long before making a game pritty, Castlevania has always been King in terms of gameplay, lets not pass the crown for the sake of a pritty Belmont, Keep them fun, keep them Castlevania.
i want more old 2d style castlevanias , nes and snes series , but in 128 bits graphics, more like that.
i dont care igarashi, he not create that castlevanias (nes and snes series)anyway , more 2d!!!!!!!
CastleVania is an awesoem series. To see another one like Symphony would be great. Dawn of Sorrow looks promising just as much, though, being on the DS. I can't wait until Dawn, later this week.
io think ther should be some new 2d games as well as a continuance of the catlevania chronicles. bring the old ones up to date in graphics and playable on the newer consoles
Castlevania has always been one of my most favorite two series of all time. Castlevania 2 for the NES was actually the first game I ever bought. I currently own all US released Castlevania games (including 3D ones), and I must say that the 3D ones have to be near the bottom of my list for most favorite in the series. Regardless of the mainstream and sales, Castlevania will always be a 2D series. Keep to the roots.. You could easily create a Castlevania in fashion of the Guilty Gear games (large, hand-drawn sprites). I think if anyone were to check the ratings of SotN, the GBA incarnations, and the newly released DS Castlevania compared to any and all of the 3D Castlevania games, you'll readily see there is no comparison. Please disregard the spam in this petition and see the legitimate feedback. Thanks.
We enjoyed Symphony of the Night quite a bit and the 2D aspect was one of the things we enjoyed most about the game. Another 2D version would be awesome.
I can't begin to express how happy I am that I found this petition. I'm shocked, impressed and for the first time in years, hopeful! Dreams that a game might one day capture me, as only Symphony of the Night had. PLEASE HEED THE PLEA OF THIS PETITION! ...Thank You
next one you should put out in 2-D should be Rondo of Blood from the PC-Engine. It would make money and just look at all of the games being re-released at compilations (such as megaman, street fighter 2, etc) It should include original and an arranged mode. I know I'd buy it.
The original Castlevania, Simons Quest, and Draculas's Curse was the real reason to own a NES. Games lately have gotten to the pointof graphics first, story second. I grew up in a time where 2d games were the best. We need to get back to what was right. Castlevania showed us that driving story could shine above the graphics. This was the best games that were ever released.
There are only a few game series that would have a chance at pulling off a breakthrough 2D graphics engine on a console, and of those series, CastleVania would be most likely to succeed.
Born as a phanomenal 2D game, there is just one option for a true Castlevania: stay in a 2-dimensional gameplay. Increase the great quality of a GBA-like Castlevania to the possibilties of the NexGen plattforms - in terms of graphics and sounds and furthermore in an excellent gameplay.
I love the way you can jump around from one place to anther on the 2d castlevanias, unlike the sluggish 3d format Please!!!! make a huge castlevania for the ps2 and ps3. Also, bring back Alucard!
2D Castlevania rocks! I have all three GBA games and I'm anxiously waiting for Dawn of Sorrow. There's so much that can be done with 2D to dazzle a game.
I, like many fans of the series, was first introduced to Castlevania by Symphony of the Night. From that wonderful experience, I was soon hooked on the games, playing every new one that was released, from Legacy of Darkness to, most recently, Lament of Innocence. Every game has had its own charms, but the 3D and handheld games have lost some of the refinement and expansiveness of Rondo and Symphony. The Castlevania series is one I enjoy very much, and I think it would benefit from another 2D Console release.
IGA, we are your fans!
I've been playing Castlevania since I was born basically and the series has always stuck with me. It'd be nice to see another 2D game on the consoles and what can be done with it as well, hell, maybe even a port of Rondo of Blood for once.
You should realize why I signed this petition...
"He states Europe does not like 2D gaming."
IF Europe has been conqured by the kingdom of Graphics over Gameplay, there are still other markets.
However, the best 2D Castlevania would go back to the oldschool forumla that made Rondo of Blood and Dracula's Curse such great games.
Also, when the Nintendo Revolution comes out, we'd like to see a Castlevania for it, with a REAL Belmont. Alucard might be considered the coolest character ever but he spawns too many... "Prettified Sissy Boys." Guys are supposed to look like GUYS, aren't they?
I've been a fan of the serise from the very start. It is my opinion the though the 3D versions are great, the 2D versions are better, and a whole lot more fun. Please make more of the likes from 1-4, Rondo of Blood, and Symphony of the Night! Even the GBA games ruled! I bought a GBA just for those three titles!
Take castlevania back to its 2d roots i have a feeling you can make another classic with the right technolgyand mind power. like SOTN mixing 2d and 3d would be a nice touch. Nex Gen Symphony of the night!!!
Castlevania has provided me with more or less a second home, we can't allow such a great game fade away. Another Castlevania on a console would be incredible. I was blown away by Symphony of the Night, I mean the music was beautiful and the graphics were awsome. Today people think games must be in 3D to be great, but let us show them how great a 2D game can be!
As much as I like 3d games, I sometimes go back to playing my NES for some old school action. I wouldn't mind seeing another 2D Castlevania, if not on PS2 or GC, then maybe DS or even PSP (maybe as an unlockable?? hint, hint!!).
There was somthing special about castlevania games you could tell that a little love went into their games, thats something you don't always feel in new games I want to feel that love again
Symphony of the Night was the greatest Castlevania of all time... one of my favourite games EVER. 3D isnt everything, sometimes it ruins the game, and 2D animation can look every bit as amazing, if not even better sometimes. If you don't believe me, look on eBay and look at the prices for SOTN!! So please, give us another chance to enjoy Castlevania the way it should be!
I love castlevania and have been playing it since Symphony. I would love to play another 2D on hoem consoles so I don't have to squint at the screen and hold my hands awkwardly playing the GBA ones. I don't have a DS, but if I had the money I would get for Dawn of Sorrow, if I had money for that as well. Here's to another 2D home console Castlevania.
I think the 3d caslevania games are ok, but all the 2d games I've played ROCK! If I could play another 2d like symphony of the night only with improved graphics i would definetly be at peace.
Thank you,
Brian Kemp
Castlevania SOTN to me has made a larger impact to my life (as a gamer) than any other game ever created. That includes the coveted final fantasy VII. i played through all the GBA games several times, and liked them, and i have preordered DoS just because of the great amount of time and love put into it.
I also owned both N64 games (blah! j/k) and i played lament of innocence. i can honestly say that if the castlevania games go pure 3D, then i, as all my fellow gamers here will be completly devastated. I will probably stop playing castlevania if it goes pure 3D. Castlevania belongs to the 2D world, and no other game series ever created demands 2D as much as this one.
I hope that my message, and the messages of these other fine gamers, gets to the ears of Koji Igarashi. I respect you sir, but i do not believe the choice of 3D is a good one.
PLEASE BRING A 2D CASLTEVANIA FOR THE CONSOLES, just imagine the AMAZING quality of 2D graphics that can be pushed with the consoles power. IT WOULD BE GOD LIKE!! The ONLY incredible 2D adventure on the consoles that look as good as GUILTY GEAR!!
XDD
Saludos
Often times, the classics need to be kept in the format that made them what they are. Revolutions in gameplay are nice, but the core design that made the games great will continue to keep the fans asking for more.
I'll admit, I haven't been a long-time Castlevania fan. I think it really started with Lament of Innocence as a matter of fact. As my interest grew, I decided to look into Castlevania's roots. Then began my encounter with Aria of Sorrow. That, without a doubt, was one of the greatest games I've ever played. Lament was pretty, Aria was simply engrossing...a gaming masterpiece. Granted, I have yet to play the "best" Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but if Aria of Sorrow made that much of an impression, I think it's safe to say that it'll follow suit. I'm currently involved in Circle of the Moon, and it has yet to disappoint. To quit making 2D games would be tragic...it's Castlevania's home style. None of the 3D games ever really matched the 2D games in flair or even difficulty really. The sheer challenge Circle of the Moon has been giving me really tops anything Lament of Innocence ever pushed out. While I thoroughly enjoyed Lament of Innocence and the other 3D Castlevanias, I have to say that most of the 2D games matched, if not completely surpassed them. Creating exclusively 3D Castlevanias seems a bit rash. What's the point of making a pretty, "graphically current" game if the gameplay simply isn't up to par with the games which used much lesser technology? I'm not saying that 3D Castlevanias will never compare to the 2D games, it just seems ill-advised to give up on 2D games altogether. Castlevania's fans aren't ALL shallow gamers looking only at "up to par" graphics with the times.
2-D Castlevania is the classic formula. Nothing can compare to these games, and it would be a great injustice for there to never be a new 2-D version of this great series. Better yet, where is our CASTLEVANIA CLASSICS COMPILATION with DRACULA X: RONDO OF BLOOD!! WE NEED THIS GAME TO BE RELEASED IN THE USA!!!!!!
