A Castlevania fan since the first NES game. There is a place for 2D and 3D Castlevania games on home consoles!!! There is a reason the Symphony of the Night is regarded as the greatest Castlvania game of all time. Lament of Innocence was a good game, but it lacked the soul the 2D games have. Please bring 2D Castlevania back!!
2D gaming itself promotes developer focus on gameplay instead of technology and that's precisely what the industry needs right now.
I've just seen too many potentially good games ruined by deadlines and budget due to the fact that the glossy 3D engine just took over the entire production time and money...
Having 2D Castlevania celebrates what castlevania truly started out with, and I think that's what is important. Castlevania isn't just about the graphica, and the visuals. It's a tradition of fabulous gameplay, story, and music.
Just imagine Castlevania on the Revolution. You could make whip motions with the controller to strike down the baddies. How cool would that be. 2D Castlevania kicks ass!!!
MORE 2D CASTLEVANIAS - MORE OF THE OLD SCHOOL (NES AND SNES STYLE)-MORE XBOX CASTLEVANIAS-MORE BELMONTS ,NOT ANIME SHIT-MORE PLATFORM-LESS IDOLATRING IGARASHI.
I strongly believe that returning the Castlevania franchise to a 2-D style platform-jumper is the way to go.
Naturally, it can still look positively amazing, and use all kinds of advanced 3D effects, regardless of which console it lands on. Things like 3D character and monster models, physics models for things such as drapes, hair, clothes, thrown items, fire, wind, et cetera, would really bring things to life. Parallax effects applied to all backgrounds would also make for breath-taking visuals. Magical effects would be astounding with modern 3D.
The element of gameplay that made games like Symphony of the Night so charming were lost completely in the switch to fully 3D gameplay. It's just not as much fun. Fans of the series must turn to other means to experience the exploration, and basic fun once they run out of GBA titles from this series, and other similar ones, such as Metroid.
Please, please bring back the formula of gaming goodness that made Castlevania a success in the firstplace!
I've been waiting for a high-resolution 2D Castlevania for so long, please make it happen! I want to see the beauty of Castlevania's animation in high resolution!
2D may not be the wave of the future, but with a game like SotN or DS or even the GBA games, it has legs and can be done wonderfully. Please keep feeding us Castlevania in 2D
I don't bother with the 3d games so much. Mario 64 was the last 3d game I really enjoyed much. I like action games, not wandering games, like the N64 castlevanias. The action in the 2d Castlevanias has always been straight up. You can step forward and backward and attack them. and dodging is no pain either. I don't wanna have to worry about aiming, pain in ash cameras and such when playing my Castlevanias.Give us some Metroidvanias please. And jazz it up so all the mainstream guys are gonna wanna play it too.
We want another 2D Castlevania on the console! Heck, give us a few remakes, for goodness sake, but we want the 2D goodness that Gekka no Yasoukyoku and Castlevania Chronicle: Akumajou Dracula gave us! Please!
We want another 2d Castlevania on home console!
I've been really disappointed with the 3d incarnations,so I'd really wish a new,great,2d version,to match the legendary Symphony of the Night.
We need another 2D castlevania on a console, something like what was done with the newest Megaman X game on PS2 manily a 2d game but with some 3d effects.
HAVING A 2D CASTLEVANIA WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.... ONLY LETS INCORPORATE THE SWITCH-OFF OF THE CHARACTERS LIKE IN CASTLEVANIA 3: BUT THIS TIME USE ALL OF THE 2D CHARACTERS EVER USED IN THE CASTLEVANIA GAMES (2D) BUT USE A BELMONT OR ALUCARD AS A DEFAULT CHARACTER// BUT USE ALL THE OTHER BELMONT CHARACTERS AS A UNLOCKABLE BONUS OR DRAG THEM ALONG FOR THE RIDE.... HAVE EACH CHARACTER DO THEIR SIGNATURE MOVES & ATTACKS.... IN SHORT WORDS .... THE CASTLEVANIA GANGS' ALL HERE!!
LASTLY ..... LETS HAVE DRACULA AS A FINAL BONUS UNLOCKABLE.... IMAGIN GETTING BACK AT THOSE PESKY BOSSES THAT TAKE FOREVER TO KILL!! JUST USE DRACULA!! THE STORYLINE IS TOTALLY UP TO THOSE KONAMI DEVELOPERS: AS ALWAYS..... KINDA MAKE IT A SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT SEQUEL
The people who have the money to buy the most video games are those who grew up - through childhood, through adolescence, even into adulthood - with 2D games. We still love our 2D games, but no one makes games for us anymore. Personally, as much as I like them, I'm getting a little tired of playing the same old games, ad nauseum, to get my 2D gaming fix.
I'm finding that the more advanced the home console systems become, the less likely I am to find a game that interests me. Impressive technology is not an excuse to make visually impressive games that are boring to play. I know you could harness the power of a modern console system to make a breathtaking, elaborate 2D game, with charm that cannot be matched by any 3D game ever made. I know that the processing power is there to make a 2D Castlevania game that would make Symphony of the Night look like a weekend project.
Please use the power of modern consoles to make innovative 2D platform jumping games, so that I don't have to continue playing the Castlevania games that look appealing to me on a 3-inch screen, with cramped thumbs, and sad sound quality. This is torture, not fun. I want fun!
It's the STYLE of game that I enjoy, not the title. I can't guarantee that I will buy the next 3D Castlevania, but if a 2D Castlevania game were released for a home console, I'd be the first in line on release day.
I would love to see another 2D Castlevania. I've been a huge fan of the series for several years now and I've played every version that I could get my hands on... and sadly, I've always been dissapointed by the 3D incarnations.
definitely needs to make one of these cv type games on a home console, itd be really awesome to see how 2d cv action would look on a system like ps3! for sure!!!!!!
How about, the 3 greats from the NES rendered 3D style with the same setup, remarkably similar look and feel, and revamp on the same midi tunes. Put these all on one DVD rom disk. Maybe us old vampire slayerswould metriculate better into the modern age. Always draemt of this idea as a kid before 3d came out. Good ole Simon in 3D action.
I love 2D games.3D games are good, but 2D can sometimes offer a overall better game experiance. Please , if you do decide to make a new Castlevania, I would love for it to be in 2D, and I will be right at home playing, daily. BRING ON 2D!!!!
I don't understand why 2D games are fading out. 2D games are inherently different from 3D games, the two styles are not similar at all. That doesn't make one better than the other, it's almost like saying action movies are better than comedies, the two are different. I would like to see the genre of the 2D game act like a genre, and not a thing of the past.
I think that the era of 2D games isn't lost.
there are great 2D games out there, and most of them are even better than the 3D games that I know.
The same goes with Castlevania.
Don't end the 2D Castlevania era.
2D castelvania games are amongst the happiest memories I have in over 25 years of game playing/ More, please, and soon! (Currently replaying DoS for the second time: genius!)
Castlevania in 2D is, and will be, one of the best franchise in video game. 2D with some 3D effects for the spells/attacks works fine too - as long as the gameplay stay 2D.
Europe does not like 2D games? Wha? You've got to be kidding! I'm playing Dawn of Sorrow now, all I can say is "more of this, please!" If you can manage this quality on the DS, I can only imagine what greatness you could reach on the consoles.
