Castlevania's 2D incarnations are one of the most stylish and artistic gaming experiences available. They elevate video games above a mere passtime or distraction into an art form. Keep it coming.
Please continue to make 2D Castlevania games. The fans of the series know the games are best in 2D, not 3D. If you want to see how much the fans like the series in 2D, go to ebay and look at the auction prices on the GBA games.
I had all but given hope on ever playing another 2D Castlevania on a console, but I would love nothing more than to play 2D on a console again! I beg you, please make just one more!
Come on dude! bring castlevania back to where it belongs, and please make it a gamecube o a nintendo console where they belong too! thanks!

Hi, Iga. I doubt you're reading this, but if you are I"m fine and dandy with what's been cookin on the GBA and DS. Although, it'd be nice to see unedited versions of Castlevania 4 & Dracula X: The Rondo of Blood on the DS.
2D plz =( I'm saddened by the lack of awesome 2D games lately(not to say that 3D games don't rock but...).And Castlevania is at it's best when 2D!! Listen to your fans, and create another butt-kicking game like Symphony of the Night >D
Castlevania has always been my favorite series, but I don't enojy the 3D ones at all. :[ I say 2D all the way! Make more video gaming history, like Symphony of the Night.
Castlevania has long been one of my favorite series, and as hard as the developers have tried, the 3d outings just don't have the magic of the sidescrolling installments. Please don't let Death get sidescrolling Castlevanias!
Hey, 2D is fu, as much fun as 3D. Heck, why not go for the so called 2.5D, platforming with 3D graphics? Drac's castle can benefit more from 3D, but we prefer ol 2D ^_^
Beginning with the first Castlevania for the NES, I have played and loved just about every Castlevania up until the 3D games. Please bring back the 2D games in a style similar to Super Castlevania. Not only would I buy the game, but I'd also buy whatever system it was made for.
make another 2D castelvania. I never buy games new and "aria of sorrow" is the first game that i actualy payed $50 for and it was worth it. Im even consideriong getting a DS just because the it has castelvania.
The caltelvania games wher really good only on home system. with symphony of the night being the best of them. Other castelvania didn't as much interest or quality.
So for a good Castelvania game again, please make it 2D and on home system, not handheld.
Please, 2D games are still appreciated all over the worl...
Make with your legendary talent a wonderful Castlevania game using this unique type of graphic's modelisation.
Thanks in advance
I am a huge Castlevania fan. I bought a PS2 for SotN and LoI, a GBA for CotM, and a DS for DoS. Although I'm not a supporter of the new art and music style in DoS, I still want new 2D action--although LoI had nice combat and sound, it never really felt like Castlevania. Anyway, make more 2D entries, maybe in the style of Contra: SS? Please?
While I enjoyed Lament of Innocence and *tolerated* the 64 version, Symphony of the Night remains the pinnacle of the series. Castlevania DS runs a close second, and the other GBA titles, late SNES, and even the Genesis and Turbo Duo versions were all incredible in their own time. I would enjoy nothing more than to see more 2D Castlevanias that might take advantage of powerful modern hardware, preferably DS but maybe even home consoles, for 3D spells, backgrounds, and effects, but in the name of all that's holy, keep the gameplay in two dimensions!
I've been waiting for the return of a 2d Castlevania on a home system since Symphony of the night, back in....1997. This is way too long!!! But it's never too late, so please, stop releasing 3d games!
On on this petitition like crazy. Although any next-gen 2-D vania game would reek of awesomeness, I hope they give the "Metroid-vania" games a break and return to a Super Castlevannia experience.
I hope Mr. Igarashi realizes how many people love the Castlevania series, most specifically the 2D games and the fact that they are still are 2D today.
When people ask "Which games are the best games for the GBA?", then if the people answering that question are not mentioning Nintendo games, they will most likely reply with the answer "The Castlevania Series". Notice that I said, "Castlevania series" and not one specific game. A quality game is already expected when "new Castlevania game" is mentioned. It is understood that it WILL be a good game, like Metal Gear Solid.
All it needs is the good design shown in so many of the Castlevania titles and it will get high ratings. Please, at least create one more console 2D Castlevania. Maybe it could feature fan made music remixes, as there are plenty of good ones on the Internet.
2D platformers still have a large market. Although room is there for a 3D Castlevanias, 2D Castlevania games still have a large part in the fan's heart. Don't give up on them, please!
For some reason, Castlevania has just never been able to transition into a 3D game. CV is a 2D series--and whats more, CV does 2D so well theres no need for anything more. Fans have known this all along. Every 3D Castlevania has done poorly, most of the 2D ones have done well. Seems clear, doesn't it?
I am a huge fan of the Castlevania Series. My favorites were the oriiginal 2D ones on NES they were hard but enjoyable. I was unimpressed with the Castlevania's for N64 but LoI showed some hope. But it still didn't feel right. I hope for more 2D Castlevania's from Konami. Dawn of Sorrow seems to be agood step in the right direction.
Castlevania, with an orchestral soundtrack and state of the art 2D graphics...wonderfulness! Use the tech to go hog wild with the graphics, not to pump 3D balogna!
2D all the way, my friends. Been a Castlevania fan since I was 6, first game was Super Castlevania IV. Used to beat it all the time as a child. Since then, I've been after every single Castlevania ever made, and trying to beat it.
Oh, and to note: Dawn of Sorrow: Beat it. Good endings. Now to get all the souls!
