expecting a similar expierence to SOTN when i picked up lament for the PS2 was the biggest letdown ever... i put it down after a couple hours. still play SOTN to this day waiting for a sequal to follow the same epic style...
I like all 2D Castlevania games. I think it can be available for retro systems and for contemporary gaming consoles. A lot of people will buy it. I mean, the same game containing versions for Systems like: PC Engine CD / Super Grafx CD CD or HuCard, Super Nintendo ROM with any Enhancement chip (like SA-1 ...) , Sega Genesis CD, Sega 32x , Atari Jaguar CD , Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation, Nintendo 64 , Gamecube. A lot of versions = A lot of business. ALSO ANOTHER VERSION OF METAL GEAR SOLID ON 2D , MSX2'S METAL GEAR 2 SOLID SNAKE SEQUEL
I support this petition, because the Castlevania series are slowly disorting from Castlevania, the 2D gameplay is fantastic, and pixel art is beautiful....
Please, at least maintain the PSP Castlevania: Dracula X chronicles 2,5D alive!
ive given up on video games because of this very reason. if i were to see another 2d castlevania on ps3 xbox360 or even wii it would restore my faith in humanity. please... dont kill 2d castlevania. we are BEGGING YOU!!!!!!!!!!
I will buy any 2D Castlevania for a system I own, and 2D Castlevania games are one of the main reasons I buy new systems (GBA, PSP). I hope lots of others feel the same way!
Give us what we want please. Look at what next-gen is doing with Bionic Commando Rearmed and that is just a remake. We want a next-gen Castlevania that isn't 3-D. The 3-D games are horrible. I would love to set down and spend 30 hours on a 2-D next gen SOTN sequel. WE WANT IT>>>GIVE IT TOO US....PLEASE!!!!!!!
sotn was the best game i ever played on ps please god just gimme another catslevania side scroller for ps2 or ps3, lament of innocence was a good game but i think another side scroller for home consoles will be a huge success :/
I am from Europe and I love 2D games. The new Castlevania game could be 3D, but with 2D gameplay like Dracula X Chronicles. I think IGA should just make more games for the PSP!
Stop being scared of the result ....a 2D Castlevania with the new console could probably being one of the best decision you could take.Returning Castlevania where it TRULY belong with the most astounding graphics ever made for a 2D game,this will be a game worth remembering and who know maybe you could bring back the interest for that genre.Think of yourself as an ambasador with an important mission lol :p But seriously i beileve in such a project and i think MANY of us will support you ;) Still praying......
another 2D castlevania for a home system will be amazing. Listen to all the fans of Symphony of the Night! By far one of the GREATEST games in video game history. If created, you would go down in video game history as being the Mosiah of the 2D world.
I read Sony wants to have 3D games on PS2, but there's always the Capcom approach: they made Megaman X8 using a 3D rendering engine, but the game itself plays 2D. I would settle for that, if using 3D is a must

Make Castlevania Symphony of the Night (sega saturn version) and Rondo of Blood X (japanese version never released to the U.S.) available for the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS can support it.
Well I have owned Simon's Quest and SotN, and I have to say that the progression made between those two games is huge! SotN was for PS1, imagine what could be done on any current system. My problem with these 3D games is that many of them should be 2D but are not. 3D gameplay is intricate, and often plot/char dev take 2nd to it. The sad truth is that often the gameplay is clunky anyways (e.g. Castlevania and DK on N64)which could have been corrected by keeping these 2D. Just to add IMHO: anything not Gears of War is pretty much ugly as sin, even HL:2 goes down dry and prickly...3D is very hard to get right. Picking nits. And please rehire Michiru Yamane, she fucking rules.
This "2d" era begining in the early 80's has brought so much joy into my life. The games were enjoyable and of all, fun. Castlevania springs to mind when thinking of great 2d games. There are too many people who enjoy 2d games to just throw the idea of making new profitable 2d games away. I for one have played all of the games and even own dracula X for the PCEngine (That game is by far the best "original style" CV game) and own the saturn version of SOTN (which I wish was a bit better and that BOTH of these games found a home on the next castlevania chronicles). But over all... I am a die-hard castlevania fan! Ever since my youngest years I have been a Vampire Killer, and because of it I have appreciation of old and many new games and many 3d games have awful camera angles.. and with 2d you never had to worry!
castlevania soul is 2D please konami hear uss! make castlevania remakes, make more artworks like PSXDSGBA games!!! you are the best in big puzzle 2d games ;)
i have enjoyed the 3d games for ps2, and definitely are not looking for their development to stop... but there is room for 2d on home consoles as well... just give it one good push and see what you can do with it... symphony is a worldwide fav and there hasnt even been an attempt to bring a new 3d chapter to the home systems which i cant understand... PLEASE just give 2d CV a whole hearted shot at winning an audience; we're thirsty for it!!!!
I read in an interview with Nintendo power that Iga wishes to make the games in 2-D for "as long as possible." Considering the generally poor ratings of the 3D console CV's, I think it would be a no-brainer to release the next console version as a 2-D Metroid-Vania style game like the GBA and DS versions. Now that Metroid is pretty much going to be exclusively 3-D, Castlevania won't have much competition with the 2-D exploration ARPG genre.
Why not a 2D game with some groundbreaking 3D elements sprinkled in think Contra: Shattered Soldier taken to the next level. Certain classic elements of the series like whip swinging could be amazing 3D sequences, or imagine if certain parts of Dracula's castle were 3D and involved special powers or puzzle solving. These current 3D versions are not very innovative. What's the point of another one?
Considering the bad market for 2D games outside japan, why not make it a japan only title? importing never has been as easy as today ;)
and the costs wouldn't look that bad cmpared to the winnings ;)
i'm so glad to hear that still in my life time, a game maker realized that 2D's belongs game can't be better on 3D it's only made it a poor colloring not as sharp as 2D did & still a lot bad things happen. Just simply compare Symphony of the Night on PS1 with the latest Castlevania series on latest console you can find nowadays and you'll find what i said!!!

Dark Lord Cthulhu is signing this petition because Dark Lord Cthulhu wishes to play a 2D Castlevania on the Wii. But don't promise to cut your head off if it gets put on another console. That one guy from Capcom that said that about Resident Evil Four should be expecting me to help him with that...
