the castlevania series is one of the best i have played in a long time... keep rbinging them out no matter what platform it is on... console or hand held
I'm a die hard fan of the Castlevania series and I'll be glad if at least one more 2D Castlevania could be released in a home console.
LARGA VIDA A SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT!!!
If a new 2D Castlevania game was made for the home consoles, I would definitely buy it, as long as it had the ability so save your game whenever and wherever. Other then that, great idea, an hopefully such and idea can be realized.
You've got my support Mr. Igarashi. Good luck!
Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night was touted as one of the greatest games for the PS1. A new 2-D Castlevania for one of the next-gen consoles (or even the current-gen consoles), if don't right, could be even better.
from my earliest introduction in the 2d SS adventures, this format works for this series.. its classic Castlevania... With such a simpler format, you can create jaw dropping special effects like in SOTN, AOS HOD.. its a timeless format that WORKS with this frachise.. i jus wish somebody would make another side-scroler for the GBA..
side scrolers forever!
DE HECHO CASTLEVANIA SOTN ES EL MEJOR DE SUS SAGAS Y EL QUE MAS VENDIO COPIAS, PARA ESTE JUEGO LE QUEDA BIEN LA (2D) CON TODO RESPETO ESTAN EN PAÑALES CON SU 3D, YA QUE LA CAMARA PIERDE LA SECUENCIA, TAN SOLO VEANLO CON RESIDEN EVIL 2, CODIGO VERONICA O FFVIII Y HABLO DE JUEGOS VIEJOS,ADEMAS QUE LOS JUEGOS TENGAN OPC.DE EL IDIOMA EN ESPAÑOL YA QUE EN EL MUNDO SOMOS MAYORIA,ESP.MEX.COLVENEZ. ARG.PERU.GUATCUBA. ETC.
YO SE QUE A USTEDES NOSOTROS NO LES INTERESAMOS, TODO ES MERCADOTECNIA ENTONCES HAGANLO POR GANAR MAS DINERO. SALUDOS
I'd love to see another 2D Castlevania regardless on what system it's for.
Dawn of Sorrow looks like it's going to be incredible!
If not, please give us an Anniversary Collection. I'd be willing to spend a pretty penny for it.
Also try to make the difficulty like Circle of the Moon.
Why not 2D games?
The original castlevania is 2D, and one of the last castlevania is 2D to (Dawn of Sorrow) and is one of the bests!
Please, don't stop with 2D castlevanias, because the 3D is very diferent, if stop with 2D, will stop with castlevania.
PS:. Eu sou brasileiro e não desisto nunca!
go back to 2D!!! let us reminisce...
both 3d castelvanias for 64 blew hardcore. the 3d for ps2 was pretty boring also. the 2d for ps1 and gameboy....effing awesome!!!
I'm so happy that a petition like this can exist in 2005...Castlevania SOTN and AoS were some of my favorite gaming experiences EVER. I was cool in 3D but it can never match it's 2D counterparts. Castlevania needs a new 2D incarnation on home consoles...NOW!!!
Castlevinia SoTN was one of the greatest games ever its on my top 5. Castlevinia really needs to go back to 2D and what would really be nice is if they would do a C:SoTN port to the PS3 and make make all of the saturn port improvements on the PS3. that would be awsome id buy it the day it came out. Keep the castlevinia's 2D i'd have liked C:LoI alot more if it was 2D
2D needs to be given a chance on next gen consoles. Make it high res art with tons of animation and people will take notice, 2D does not have to be dead.

I played C:SOTN for ten hours straight last night, and I'm going to do it again today, because 2-D owns! Wanna know howmany times I've played the 3-D Castlevanias? NOT ONCE. Bring back the awesome 2-D RPG Castlevanias to the homes consoles! We, the gamers, demand you do so!
Castlevania isn't bad 3d. But ive had the most fun out of the entire series from Aria of Sorrow and Symphony of the night. Please make 2d castlevania's for the consoles.
How realistic the graphics in a game are do not by ANY means make the game. What makes the game is how each medium used in the creation of the game comes together. There are some gaming concepts that only 2D animation can work with.
I love the castlevania games and the fact that there 2d makes them even better. Castlevania 64 was good but I still prefer them in 2d. Also 2d games seem to provide more of a challenge and require more skill to beat wich is what I live for. 2d Castlevania is the only way to go!
Castlevania is one of the greastest games in the world. It has been proven whenever it is in 3-D, that it has had poor ratings from fans and gaming magazines. Sure, other games have jumped onto the 3-D ship, like the Metal Gear seris and have done excellent. However, Castlevania has been wonderful as a 2-D game, and should stay as a 2-D game. A mixture of 2-D and 3-D graphics isn't a bad thing, however, full 3-D castlevania games just don't have the flare that a CV 2-D game has.
I like Castlevania for it's 2D games, especially Symphony. It wasn't on a handheld system, yet we still loved it. Who says a game can't be good unless it's 3D? Seriously, 3D is for shooters and such, not for vampire-slaying Castlevania action!

mr. igarashi, please, please us with a new, arranged, and better castlevania in 2d¡¡¡ with new characters¡¡¡ please, alucard and richter have to return¡¡¡
Listen IGA, 2D side-scrolling is what made Castlevania famous and it keeps is famous. Ask any gamer "what are the to 15 games of all time?" and Symphony of is Night will always be on the list. Ask a gamer "What are the ten biggest franchises ever?" and Castlevania will be on the list. 2D made Castlevania what it was. Yes, with the newer better technology you can ahve better 3D graphics, but no offence, all 3D castlevania games SUCK! Try something different. Please keep Castlevania in the 2D realm and find something else to do with the more powerful engines.
I would like to see not only a 2D Castlevania game, I was wondering if they can consider a feature I planned...
Let´s take for example three characters.
Genya Alucard, Soma Cruz, and other with a new set of moves, let´s call him Quincy.
Then you select 1 character to start with, if you choose Soma, you´ll start in the ENTRANCE area as usual; if you choose Genya you start near the ROYAL CHAPEL, and if you start with Quincy, then you´ll start from UNDERGROUND CAVES, once you reach a certain point, you can´t go any further until the next character unlocks the same point from the other side or anything like that.
Then you must set a walktrhough, because all LIFE MAX, HEART MAX, and some items can be found only once, and others like RELICS can only be used bye a certain character, etc...
Well it is just an idea, if you plan no keep on 3D, at least do it demi 2D, like adding doors con background to other chambers... OK?
Thanks
like it was said before, some games are just meant to stay 2d and castlevania is one of them. alot of 2d games have way better personality then 3d games.
They are the backbone upon which the adult generation of gamers now exists! Symphony of the Night could outclass many of today's games. Long live the sidescrollers!
I am a game design major in college, and I will try to help revive the Sidescrolling genre. Other companies need to take a chance and realize that EVERY ONE wants a new 2D Castlevania on home consoles!
