2 Few Cops = 2 Much Crime

We, the undersigned, believe that public safety should be the top priority for city government in St. Paul. With that in mind, we urge the mayor and members of the city council to support the campaign to add 125 new police officers by the year 2009, which will bring the police department to an authorized strength of 701 in 2009.
Furthermore, we ask the mayor and city council to actively demonstrate their support of this vital public safety campaign by adding 40 new police officers to this year’s city budget and increasing the department’s authorized strength by 40 officers.
Finally, we ask in the strongest possible terms that the mayor and city council do the same for the two subsequent budget years which will realize our goal of 125 new officers by 2009.
