518Fever.com's Petition to Expand Buster's Law
Published March 21, 2010
518Fever.com which operates the Headed Home Program is starting this petition to expand Buster's Law which made the killing of a companion animal a felony in 1999.

With the recent string of animal cruelty acts in the Capital Region locals demand that Buster's Law implements harsher penalties for animal cruelty and neglect and also incorporates horses.

Assemblyman James Tedisco has proposed new additions to the outline of this law.

Bills A9912 and A8444 introduced by Assemblyman James Tedisco. A9912 will allow pet horses to be clearly included as companion animals under Buster... See More’s Law, facilitate aggravated cruelty prosecution of horse abusers, & place restrictions on those who have been convicted of animal abuse from owning animals in the future. A8444 “increases certain penalties for violating the prohibition of animal fighting and for aggravated cruelty to animals and requires a psychiatric evaluation for defendants convicted of aggravated cruelty to animals.

We also would support Bills that would outline harsher penalties for people found guilty of animal abuse or neglect. Mandatory jail sentences.

We also want there to be a law that anyone found guilty of animal neglect or abuse loses any right to own an animal or be in an environment to care for an animal.

Each signature shows support for the above statements and shows the local communities dedication and passion to expanding Buster's Law.

**Petition will be mailed to the Governor's Office**
