The Greek authorities should be happy that somebody tried to take responsibility and cared for the straydogs. So let teh dogs free NOW so they can go to their new familys!!
No sense at all in the actions taken by the Greek authorities!!!! Shame on them treating their straying animals so pityful and then taking actions against those who are willing to take care of them!
Save your energy and money in finding the people who dump the animals in the first place, they should be the ones who deserve to be punished not the new families or the innocent animals... please
Being the happy owner of 2 strays from Athens, I have followed the situation for months now. It seems that things aren't becoming better, even worse. I hope Greece will finally understand that they belong to Europe and that they should work together with foreign animal welfare groups and not against them !
You are at the crossroads! Do not take the wrong path back into the Dark Ages of cruelty to animals. Instead of hindering animal welfare organisations support them!
Please (!) set these dogs free. the whole situation is unbelievable. in particular in regards to the fact, that greek authorities have no interest in these dogs. In my opinion this is an abuse of authority!!!!
As the Greek Government is not making an effort to solve the stray dog problem in it´s country, they should be happy NGOs are taking over responsibility for these animals.
1 years ago I myself have adopted a dog from Greece. I have seen the situation there and can only say that I will never go back as a tourist until the treatment of animals in general there will have changed.
We are completely shocked. Instead of cooperating and improving living conditions for animals in Greece you block harmless initiatives and prolongue suffering.
Please reconsider your actions!
Man sieht immer wieder was für eine
Ignoranz in Griechenland Herscht wenn es um Tiere geht.Lasst die armen Hunde frei, und habt Respekt vor jedem der sich dafür hingebungsvoll aufopfert.
i don t see the reason why the country that will get rid of their stray anomals should want to keep them after finding someone who wants to take care of them????
I have already 2 dogs from Greece, found with wounds on the street. I will never believe that this is the best way for the dogs - living on the street.
i love animals and i would never make them suffer or cause them harm!i demand the immediate release of the 58 dogs illegaly obtained and kept unlawfully by the authorities in pireaus-greece!!!where is your dog now?
2 years ago I myself have adopted a dog from Crete. I have seen the situation there and can only say that I will never go back as a tourist until the treatment of animals in general there will have changed.
The huge number of stray animals in Greeces makes it impossible to find homes for all these animals. Allowing them to be re-homed abroad is the only sensible solution. The Greek government would be better advised to take measures to prevent strays rather obstructing and depriving a small number of dogs from a secure future elsewhere.
I ask you very much you please release the 58 street dogs from Kreta. A good life eypects these dogs in Germany. No Greek is ready to adopt a street dog. Foreign animal conservationists do an excellent work in Greece - often to the bound of their strengths and their financial possibilities. Mrs. Karagouni should take these poeple as an exemple. Your behavior is stamped by chaotic, rash actions - expertise about protection fo animals isn't existing. Stop this woman - she demages the reputation of Greece.

Germany is one of the four countries in Europe which has solved its stray animal problem. It is also the only country which protets the rights of animals in its constitution. Rehoming Greek stray animals in other EU member states which do not have a stray problem is logical and an example of Europeans working together with obvious benefits for animals and animal welfare in general.
The people who work for the animals in Greece are fighting an injust cause allready every day, and sick, lying people who are afraid of foreigners are making it worse.
Take these people to court, lets all the european countries stick together and sue them for slander and animal cruelty.
Please release the dogs and I appeal to all the human living in this world to support and save animals. We human are the deadliest creature in this universe.
Let's not keep these dogs away from what they've always wanted; Someone who they can trust and love. Please give them this chance to have a real family of their own.
Dear Sirs,
Those dogs have the right to a better life, and this delay will only hurt them. Please let them go to their new owners who can give them a life without worries. Thank you.
