What in the world is the purpose for this ridiculous behavior? Nobody can understand what goes on in the head of Greek authorities. All they're interested is the big money from tourism. The dogs deserve a better life and there's no reason why keeping them in Greece.
We spent almost three weeks waiting for our dogs.
Three family 's in Holland are getting desperate but we won't rest until you let the dogs go to their new homes. I will NEVER go to Greece again if this cruelty does not stop/
I can't see how it is possible to believe in the claims that (these) rescue-dogs were destined for use in the fur industry etc. Take a look at the websites for all the rescue-organisations and you will find case history upon case history about dogs rescued in the past, reunions (meetings), pictures of the dogs in their new homes and so on.
These dogs have been through hell already, please allow them to finally experience the love they so deserve!
Shame on the Greek authorities for hindering instead of supporting such organizations.
We were planing our vacation in Greece "again". Such an ignorance has lead us to change our mind and select an other place to spend our time and money.
Not only are you losing your tourists, but also the respect of your foreign neighbors.
Human beings were put here to be the guardians of the planet and all the creatures upon it. Our closest bond is with the dog. Whatever evil we do to the earth and the animals, we ultimately bring upon ourselves. Do the right thing for these dogs.
Stop using animals like things. Unfortunately greek society has to learn a lot about treating and respecting animals. The mass media and the educational system have failed in teaching this to the generation which now is in the duty to do it right but doesn't.
Your pride will be your fall, and all of europe is now pointing their fingers at you.

I cannot understand the aim of those who have created this issue, taking advantages from the known inefficiency of bureaucracy in Greece. Could it just be an outdated chauvinism that unfortunatly can still be found in Greece?

Please allow the rightful owner...Noah Crete to take the 58 former stray dogs to their respected homes. It is most unfair to the safety and well being of the animals to keep locked up and prisoners of "war."

That isn't fair! Those dogs are wanted by loving families, why should they spend their lives in dog prison, they have done nothing wrong?!!! Greece needs to step up to modern times, and stop the inhumanity, these animals should have legal rights, just as women and children.
If the Greek authorities don't stop such nonsense in the future, there will be a boycott of tourism for sure. Voices are heard abroad that talk outrageous about the unhuman Greek attitudes that make animals suffer. People abroad do care and are not willing to accept such insanity. Let those dogs go to their destination and for heaven's sake care for all living creatures in your country!
I left Greece because I couldn't stand to see the sight of so many suffering animals. I am preparing to send some of my own family of dogs to the U.S. but this makes me afraid they will be confiscated. And all this due to one xenophobic woman who started a malicious rumor that dogs were being sent abroad for illegal purposes!!! Why would Greece prefer to let these dogs suffer in one of their so called pounds, when they have families waiting for them. Obviously, no Greek wants them. The government is violating many laws in this case.
Da fehlen einem einfach die Worte, statt dankbar zu sein, daß so viele Tierfreunde sich für das Elend im Süden einsetzten, werden die Tiere und die Tierfreunde wie Verbrecher behandelt. Die Menschen die für so viel Elend sorgen, sollten richtig ordentlich bestraft werden, da läuft zum Leid der schwächsten verdammt viel schief.

I had no idea about the attitude towards animals in Greece, but this matter brought it to my attention.
Hardly good publicity for a country with falling tourism.
Its breaks my heart to hear tht people i met and loved in a country I thought was perfect, can have so little regard for its animals, and evne then if they don't care why not let those that do help.
I feel sure that in the end it will bring the tourist industry to an end, and most Europeans DO CARE.
