Greece ... is there any reason for such action on your part? Does your country not have enough strays? By any chance ... could you be waiting for some type of payment to let these animals go? What is your problem? Or did you KILL too many animals for the last Olympics, that you might be afraid to run out of strays?
What do Karagouni and her entourage do to relieve the misery of the Greek strays? Before resorting to public prosecutors and illegal detention of animals she might take a look at the thousands of animals that have found security and happiness in homes in northern Europe where, unlike Greece, dogs are treated with love and compassion and regarded as members of their families.
I fear the negative impact of Karagouni's paranoia will be felt on tourism this year. WAKE UP Greek Government - you have much to lose by letting this woman create havoc. These dogs have suffered enough - they (and countless like them) deserve the chance of a happy life.
We rehomed a wonderful Greek dog 8 years ago. We urge the Greek Goverment to let the dogs go to loving homes abroad. We will NEVER visit Greece again if this does not happen.
animals have rights too. Let them continue their trip to Germany where they have a cahnce of having a real home. Why are you letting them to continue to suffer ?
Mrs Garangouni should spend more time to see and save the dogs dying in the forests and in the streets that are desperate for help than spend time in courts and TV shows

It's a shame for the Greek country that foreign animal welfare organisations are needed to protect and take care of animals in Greece. I demand the Greek authorities to act like the modern, civilized EU-country you should be. Let the dogs go to them who takes care of them and don't let this be a stupid "prestige-question" any longer.
Shame on Greece!!!
Free these dogs and let the real animal lovers take care of the dogs and put Mrs Garagouni in a cage so that she will stop spreading rumours that are pure lies.
I have two stray dogs from Greece and I can asure you that they are now living in haeven and not any longer in the hellhole your country is to animals. Shame on Greece!!!
There are lots of other mediterranean countries, where tourism-Euros/Dollars can be spent. Fuerteventure/Spain started the same way, but nowadays (with amazing support of www.tierhilfe-fuerteventu ra.de) the point of view changed. Many tourists in the hotels ask first how the hotelcat is doing and on second for the roomkey as they check-in. So Greece, you see, Tourism can do without you, but can you do without european/worldwide tourism??? Many travel agents will learn about this drama and you can be sure, they will recommend other places to their customers. Places, where people are smarter than you. The world is watching you!
Is it fair to detain animals who have a bright future? In fact, the Greek authorities should be happy that these dogs have been adopted by families in Germany and Holland.
