What comes to mind when you think of “IAMS”, quality dog food? Right? But did you know what company makes “IAMS”? Procter & Gamble, the company that still does unnecessary animal testing. Surprised? I was.

Just last month I bought a bag of “IAMS” to donate to a local animal shelter. Ironic, buying a product to feed lost/abused dogs, from a company that abuses animals in the worst way.

I stopped buying Procter & Gamble products years ago, when I first realized how unnecessary animal testing is.
Ex: A bunny, her eyes are taped wide open, and a stinging liquid (Laundry detergent), is being dripped into her open eyes. The test was/is done to see how much laundry detergent is needed, before the animal goes blind, or her eyes are completely burned out. The test showed: Laundry detergent is damaging when splashed into eyes. Really? No way!

Remember the last time you accidentally splashed some water into your eyes, uncomfortable at best, right? Can’t imagine the pain that animal was in.

If a person is stupid enough to splash Laundry detergent into his/her eyes, no amount of testing, and torturing small animals will change that.


In 2002 alone, 1,438,553 animals were used. 70% of them died in testing or in just the bad condition they are kept in.

Only testing a product on a human will tell you what kind of reaction a human will have to a product (that's a pretty simple concept to figure out!). "Testing" products on animals is horribly wrong, and must be stopped!!! In addition to that, the killing of innocent creatures must be stopped, as well!!! (People fail to realize that there are animal-derived ingredients in so many things, that they would never even think that they're in...It's horrible!) And, in regards to this petition's comment about 'dog food'...I do NOT think of "quality dog food" in conjunction with that brand, or any other brand of carnage 'pet food'....My cat, and dog eat Evolution Vegan kibble!!!!! But, I do support the anti-animal-testing message of this petition!!!

Animals have completely different reactions to the affects of chemicals than a human would. So testing it on them really does nothing to show that a product is safe for human use.

These innocent and helpless animals have been known to urinate and defecate at the very sight of a human being coming towards them. The same animal can be severely tested on on a daily basis, without pain relief or anaesthetic sometimes and can have more than one type of test done on them, lasting anything from 6mths up to 20years. Its an absolute disgrace.
