Please dont close afflecks down i love it there. Where else are we going to go, that place is like home and my friends have shops there. we have enough flats in Manchester,theres plenty of buildings for you to knock down and build more. Afflecks brings people to Manchester.
No way can afflecks close it is the best place to buy clothes and footwear from. Myself being a goth/metal girl it wud be devastating to loose that place. DONE CLOSE IT
It can't be allowed to happen. The council should step in and make an offer!! Afflecks has been a serious people puller for many years and always changes its style with the mood and era. An amzing hotchpotch of weird and wonderful. Get onto the council and tell them to purchase it.
We cann't let them close afflecks palace. If they do there will be no where to buy unique stuff. No unique clothes, no unique jewelry. no nothing just the same faceless shops selling the same stuff as everywhere else. And Machester will become just another faceless city!!
You cant do that its wrong! Without aphlex palace manchester wont have its alternative culture anymore. We already lost the coliseum and i loved it there and many other smaller shops followed it away. Manchester will just become like every other boring city. Its one of the few pleasures we have around here, it might not be perfect but its far better than some crappy overpriced flats thats chavs are going to vandalise anyway. Dont close the place down the people there are amazing.

Please keep it open, I have so many memories there and it is just fun there, it's been there for years. It shows the different cultures in Manchester also, and you can't take that away, its part of what makes Manchester!
There are enough bland, nothing to write home about flats in the city centre. To rid Manchester of a famous major iconic shopping outlet is frankly, a disgrace. It is the birth place of many trendsetting fashions and draws in many customers from outside the area. Remember, the city centre is first and foremost a commercial outlet, the suburbs are for living in. City centre residential projects are all well and good, providing they don't come at the expense of icons like this. And no, offices in this building wouldn't be justifiable either. There is a difference between greed and moral decisions. Manchester would become a far worse off place without this icon and it's closure would affect tens of thousands of customers and cost the city many visitors to a degree too. All for the greed of one deal for a company putting £ signs before the benefit of the community.
First the Corn Exchange, now Afflecks... is nothing sacred?! Gonna be another trendy set of flats which is just what we don't need like the Hacienda! Ppl come to Manchester cos it's innovative and original - why turn it into another faceless city?
Keep it open, Otherwise i'll have no decent place to go for my dinner. Also it's the only place left like that in the north of England. And what about the job loses???
Ok. Why Afflecks? I mean build flats somwhere derelict. Thats the reason i go Manc. TO shop in afflecks. As do many other young people. Close it and it'll be wack.
i coem up from Brighton to shop at Afflecks , its a totally unique place in UK, to loose it woudl help turn Manchester into just another boring faceless shopping city

KEEP AFFLECKS OPEN - there are enough flats and shops in Manchester to keep the people going - a lot of people for YEARS have been shopping at Afflecks! It has it regulars, its newcomers and its tourists - one of the only places alternative people get to shop these days, there are also shops in Afflecks beent rading for as long as I can remember - fair on them to keep upping the rent cos the owners have decided they want EVEN more cash to add to their back pocket..sod off! SUPPORT AFFLECKS, KEEP IT OPEN!!
Keep Afflecks open!!!! It's a great place to shop and everyone loves it!!! I'm at Uni outside Manchester now and even the people here have heard of it and visit it regularly!!!! Keep it open!!!!!!

How dare they even think of closing Affleck's. It was bad enough when the Corn Exchange was closed. Do we really need more flats n posh shops, NO! Affleck's is THE best place for indie/alternative stuff and is a big part of Manchesters heritage!
Afflecks has been a good home to many people how aren't "Mainstream" and don't follow crowds.
The government hates this, that's why they are trying to close it down.
It's time we stood up for ourselves and made a point.
Afflecks is an amazing place to just wander around and chill out, closing it down will be a blow to the area and the city.
