This is crazy shiz yeah, you close down Afflecks you close down like 3/4's of the teenage community in Manchester and sooner or later some absolute jocky who wanted to change this place into flats will start complaining about too many kids in Manchester, well then if we had Afflecks we wouldn't be on the streets drinking alcohol and getting off our faces through boredom cos we'd have a place to go. If it's not one it's the other so choose wisely. Also there is gonna be a protest. Trust me, I'm like a mental doctor...
How can you close afflecks???? So many people travel into mancs primarily to go to afflecks and It provides so many people with work.Most importantly - its a truly unique part of the centre of manchester....think about this.

It would be a huge loss to manchester to shut down afflecks palace. Its the main reason why i go to Mnachester, there is no other place anywhere like it. Its somewhere where all differnt people and all different cultures can go to just to hang out and buy things. There are flats everywhere anyway and aflecks gets so much buisness. Its pathetic.

Although i no longer go to Afflex, i used to spend hours on a saturday there, just looking through everything. It would be a huge loss to Manchesters alternative scene if Afflex (like collosium) were to shut. IT might be over pirced in there. but people need to make money because of the increasing rent on stall holders. Also Colin from the studio dances like nobodys buisness. And where else would i get free roach material (Y)
im getting loads of people on thios because i know so many people that go to afflecks, it should stay open its not hurting anyone, and it made me who i am! its one of the few places id class as sane! KEEP IT OPEN!

Afflecks is the main reason I became who I am now. I realised there was more than being a scally and saw the brilliant vibe in afflecks. It's what makes manchester better than the other cities.

it has been getting less rock and alternative for years, but theats no reason to close it, maybe it needs some new, less comercial shops and a bit more of an attitude again. but if you close it then i have no real reason to go to manchester anymore
I agree with the general sentiment of everyone else here; it's about culture! Lose Afflecks - "ON THE SIXTH DAY GOD CREATED MANchester" et al. - and Manchester will become the ever-increasing carbon-copy of every other city centre. Drab and faceless. No!
In Manchester, Afflecks is the one genuinely cool and interesting place to shop. Without it, the Northern Quarter would die a horrible death. Manchester would take a step towards becoming a drab, cultureless city.
