Afflecks Palace is one of Manchester's greatest features. If rent is going to be forced up so much, the council should buy the building to preserve to market rather than see it converted into yet more flats.
Stop the closure, it's riddiculous. Shutting what is often regarded as the hub of the Northern Quarter can only damage the city and what it is best known for - a space for everyone.

Although I don't live in Manchester any more I spent many a happy day at Afflecks in the late 80s/early90s. As has been said it's a cultural icon and this idea must be stopped
AFFLECKS PALACE IS AMAZING! It is legendary within manchester. It cant shut down. Manchester will lose it's spark! Manchester is famous for : Oasis, Shameless, Manchester United and AFFLECKS PALACE!
afflecks is an institution. it makes no sense to destro the thing that those of alternative cultures flock to and often depend on. i've spent the last 9 years visiting that place, it would be sorely missed

Afflecks Palace is not just a shopping area but an institution for many people of all ages, afflecks is a part ofManchester and its cultural identity. I first heard about Afflecks when i was living in Glasgow and since visiting Manchester since 1998 and now living in Manchester since 2005 each time i visited or each time i now in town, afflecks is always a must. It also somewhere i take people to visit when visiting me inManchester. Do The Right Thing, Protect Afflecks, Protect Culture!!
Keep afflecks going. It was part of my experience of first going to town unaccompanied as a youngster. As was the collesium.

I live in Leeds and whenever i come to visit Manchester Aflecks is the first place i stop for shopping. Its such an unique and amazing place, a real treasure trove of original and vibrant shops. It would be a tragedy to turn it into some "trendy" apartments. Aflecks is a part of Manchester's unique set up. Please don't turn this amazing city into a clone high street.

not only is it a shopping centre regularly used, it is also a wonderful place for people to start businesses, and a historic landmark, it makes no sense to close it, unless it's some sort of plot against the alternative community

Having shopped in numerous alternative places across the country, I can honestly say that Afflecks is set apart, far superior in so many ways. It would be a great loss to see it shut down.
afflex is a Manchester landmark! anyone even a little weird knows and goes to affleks, losing it would be a big blow to a big majority of Mancunians and people in the surrounding north west.
Why what isthe point in closing it. It gives a great range of alternative shopping a place to be. Ones that are too small to have free standing shop. All the up coming designer who get they things sold there. the tattooist and body piercers and not to mention it is hub among the young and alternative community. This is WRONG!!!!! I am a business women so I know about profit and expantion. It is just a damn shame that people have to put money first every time!
It will be a devestating blow to Manchester if Affecks goes. It provides a forum for young designers and shoppers from all over to develop alternative style and culture and needs to be saved.
the place is the centre of the world for the alternative style and music genre. how can they close down aa place that has helped so many get to where they are today.
