Closing affleks would be the stupidest thing ever a large community of people exist because of that building its as much a part of manchester as old trafford,any other landmark. Its a break from the norm and its put the northern quarter on the map.

Afflecks is a great place with a wonderful atmospher and vibe that you cannot get anywhere else in Manchester. To move it would be madness and the vibe couldnh't be built anywhere else. A big loss for manchester if this goes ahead.

Afflecks was one of my major reasons for wanting to move to lovely lovely Mancland in the first place!

Lots of flats are being built all over, people spend a lot of money in Afflecks and everyone will be gutted if it closed down. I have many fond memories of the place and I go there as much as I possibly can, I wouldn't go to Manchester if Afflecks wasn't there anymore!

i have been going to afflecks since i was 14. it was a major part of my younger years and i still visit it now. it cannot bloody close down!! it is the only place like it in the country. i have so many amazing memories from this place. corporate bastards allways win. dont let it win this batttle. that is all. x

Every other high street in the country now pretty much looks the same, with the same business. Its a unique point in the whole city and closure will hit the profits of all the business around that area. No city has much benefited from having the center full of yet more chain pubs.

When we come up from London we always visit afflecks. It reminds us of Kensington Market before it was destroyed never to return.
