It's the best shop ever, it's just another example of property owners being selfish and wanting to make as much profit as ever. To close Affleck's would be a disgrace!
By closing Afflecks Palace, a big part of Manchester's tourism, trade will suffer. Before i moved here i travelled miles to visit Afflecks as it is such a unique place
I watched them shut Quiggins in liverpool, i refuse to watch another major shopping place, for innovative entrprenuers to sell their clothes bags and accesories etc. This place is an amazing thing for manchester, and why can't they see that? SAVE AFFLECKS PALACE!!!
Ive only been there 4 or 5 times, but I love that place! not for the clothes it sells (although thats one reason i go) but for the atmosphere. Its unique and nothing can replace it. I doubt theres anythign like it in other cities close by, it would be a blow to the whole world and it would have a terible effect on the local economy if that little gem were to go.

Keep it open a couple of my friends have their own businesses and it would be a shame for those people to be out of business. Plus even if this petition doesn't make a difference, then at least it shows that people care.
The glory days of Afflecks were over in 93/94. Nobody is goin to listen to this petition because they are alla bunch of Caplialist wankers set on destroying a thriving alternatitve commuity. Money is power, this will not dissuade anyone...Afflecks will be sold...REST IN FUCKIG PEACE!!!
i av only been there a few times but there ante no wer like it and alot more people will agree, if this place gets closed down there is so much stuff that we cnt get from other shops unless we go to another country n there all fakes n even if it is closed down wot sorta self centered w####r wud wont to raise the rent, these guys cud mek more money if they dnt close it down n thats without the rent thing
SAVE AFFLECKS! it is a hugely important mancunian cultural landmark and is a well known indie shopping place free from the rabid consumerism taking over the rest of this great city. Yours, Owen the Manc Man!
Afflecks is the one thing thats makes manchester city centre stand out against the trafford centre. Gettin rid of it is just erasing the small amounts of uniqueness manchester has against other cities. x
