Are you insane?? Do NOT close Allfecks! Manchester will be over run with Emos and Goths with nowhere to go! The same happened a few years ago in London with Kensington Market and it is still mourned today. Do you want everyone to turn into a chav, is that what this is about? Alternative people have rights too!
you can't close afflecks it's about the only place left that sells unique clothes, the only place i can go shoppin an not get hassled by chavs, everybody loves afflecks an it's one of the best places in manchester!!!
Afflecks palace is the key stone of the northern quarter, an area that thrives on its individuality and alternative culture. It would be a great loss for manchester for it to be turned into aparments and offices, particularly when the rest of the city is fast becoming saturated with developments like these. its loss would be greatly detrimental to what is one of europes most diverse and culturally significant cities.

Affleck's forms part of Manchester's charm, and is an absolute NEED for the indie kids of the city. Encourage the music and history of the city, don't wipe it out! KEEP IT OPEN!
its like the only place good for kids like us to go, theres no point really, you wont make any money out of the apartments, plus its the only thing i go to manchester for. they sell all retro stuff, and i love that, and so do a lot of people.
dont close it all the youths and older generation in manchester who are alternative will have no where to shop we need this place open to keep us form all looing the same!!!!
Either the change of use to flats or a substantial increase of rents would be a disaster for shopping in Manchester. Not only do the stalls at Afflecks provide opportunities to browse freely and to buy 'alternative' or retro items, they also draw in shoppers to other stores in the area. It would be equivalent to closing down Portobello Road Market.
I love Afflecks I do believe it's the best shopping experience in Manchester, affordable and crammed with weird and wonderful objects you cant find elsewhere! Keep it open!!!!
