Srsly, English lacks places like Afflecks enough stop fucking destroying everything which brings culture and expression to the UK.
I’m from kent, and have never been quite anywhere else like Aflecks, its always a joy when I visit Manchester to visit Afflecks.
I adore the fashion, and how people can dress to their tastes with such a wide range of choices, and able to purchase clothing like this without ordering online from japan or amercia.
If you close this place down, I don’t see how the hell you will gain anything.
Keep Afflecks Open!!!!!!!!!
It's the only place in manchester that caters to the alternative tastes of culture today - people like me! and every single person that I know!
This is one of the best places in Manchester. very few places are as social and unique.
A lot of Manchester's character will go with it if it dissapears.
Why close such an amazing and interesting place? Afflecks Palace is a mark in Manchester now and I know people from across the country who have visted it at least once.
Closing it down will not only upset a lot of customers, but many people will lose their jobs.
Please don't close it down. This is the last place in Manchester for unique shops after The Corn Exchange bacame the glossy new trendy Triangle, and The Coliseum closed.
It's a huge part of history for so many people too.
If you close down Affleck’s you will be destroying many memories that we want to keep alive by revisiting. It is the heart of the Northern Quater and represents Manchester’s artistic culture. You can build flats anywhere...why here?
Save Afflecks Palace from being shut down. Where else is there so much variety under one roof? It's part of the fanbric of the Northern Quarter that made it into the "desirable location" it is today. If Afflecks goes, then Manchester's cool rating disappears.
Don't Close This Place!
Its One Of The Few Original & Unique Places That Manchester Still Has Left!
The Coliseum's Gone!
What More Do You Want!?
(& Plus It Has An Ace Piercing Studio That I've Used For Years!)
As Far As I'm Concerned, This Is All Down To Narrow Minded Pricks Wanting To Make More Money!
Its Selfish & So Unfair To Everyone That Makes An Honest Living Through Running Their Buisness's In Afflecks.
SORT YOUR HEADS OUT!
Lauren.
Don't close it, I've moved to Manchester this year and it's where I get most of my stuff. It's a great part of Manchester and is way more important to the city than some more flats!
I think by shutting down afflecks, you are distroying a huge comunities socialising area and taking the culturat diversity out of Manchester. It is discrimination towrds how people want to live as it is taking their choice of shop away and i believe making these into appartments just show how narrow minded the council of manchester actually are.
KEEP AFFLECKS OPEN! only been this side of country a year and bit now, but wen anyone mentioned alt clothing/shoppin to me they always sed AFFLECKS...i go everytime im in manchester and i love it. Could and have spent hours there! dont close it!
Dont close Afflecks, its one of the best places in Manchester and the only one of its kind. Many of my friends from all over and even in different countries come to Manchester and visit Afflecks.
Keep it ALIVE and let it live on.
I, like many of my friends from Lancaster have been journeying to Manchester at least once a month for over 4 years simply to come to Affleck's Palace, not just for the shopping but also for the wonderful atmosphere and sense of togetherness it gives to those with alternative tastes. My love of Affleck's was a major contributor to my decision to move to Manchester last year, and I'm quite sure that if Affleck's goes, it won't only be commerce that loses out.
Yeh, great idea, rip out the soul of Manchester. Soon it will just be a faceless city full of middle-class pre-30 yuppies. Again, well done Manchester City Council.
i used to shop there all the time and its an awesome place with much diversity. It would be an awful shame to close it down...so dont! it not only will spoil a center for wonderful and various subcultures but also Manchester will lose much of its interest (including losing out financially)!
aflecks is the only pace for us atunative ppl to go and hide it rocks there is nothing more that needs to be said about it just dont knock it down or heads will roll!!!
Its like my home.. being moved from foster home to foster home, its the only stable environment iv ever been in and your gonna take away the only place i fit in or feel wanted
We can't lose Afflecks! Its a landmark, work of art, and haven for all things alternative. There's literally something for everyone in there too!Its not just a hideout for mini-moshers!
SAVE OUR AFFLECKS!
As a person who has lived in the city centre for the past 7 years, I love the variety and everything about Afflecks. This is part of Manchester history and one of the reasons that makes it great and brings people to our city. If you close it you lose yet again another unique charater of the city, we have already lost independent retailers with rent increases, the individuality of Corn & Produce Building (now the Traingle)etc....
Look guys, u see its not what we do for Afflecks its wht Afflecks does for us, it is like our second home of first for some of us, we always feel welcome their and people speak to u who u dont know but they do coz u have something in common with them u like rock music or u r shopping in the same fantastic plce etc, it is the best without a doubt please we are all begging, dont do this to us or to afflecks, it will be a big loss to us, to manchester itself and to U.
