ive been going yo afflecks over 8+ years. its a hallmark of manchester not to only the apparent *mosher* trend but the genral alterernative scene. the building it self as to much history aswell as the history to everyone who as been there.
Sadly Manchester had the Corn Exchange ripped away, and then Colleseum. To hear that Afflecks Palace could be next on the hit list is shocking. For Manchester's next loss been to this this beautifully unique building of shops/stalls and all its stands for would be a crime, and have an unfair neg impact on many people's live and jobs etc. Leave it be. Flats can be built any where, Afflecks Palace forever!!
Surprise, surprise. Greedy landlords want more money. Affleck's has been the starting point for many designers and shop owners, giving them an opportunity to kickstart their businessess. It's loss would be a massive shame as it is a major draw for the city and personifies the Northern Quarter spirit.
Affleks Palace Is Far More Than A Shopping Centre,
Affleks palace is a hallmark for the acceptance of the mosher into today's society, destroyin it would kill the spirit that every1 has fought so hard to bring up!
No way can you get rid of afflewcks it's my only source of amazing clothes it's the main reason i go into manchester everyone loves afflecks it's a sanctuary. Any cretin who wishes to shut down the one place i love most will have to deal with me
Afflecks palance is one of the only reasons many of us go to manchester, closing it down would be nothing short of criminal, First the corn exchange was taken from us, then the colleseum, please leave something for those of us who don't want to go snd buy the latest capri pants from next!!!
PLEASE keep it open, its the only unique shop in Manchester! We NEED it!! Its for everyone its not just a haven for young people but even my gran has shopped in there!! The people of Manchester need it! Id much sooner shop there than in topshop or selfridges!
One of my earliest memories is of my mum taking me there at half term. Since the Corn Exchange closed, it has become a cultural focal point of Manchester. Shutting it down would be despicable.
This is an important part of the culture and heritage of Manchester. Afflecks, and the vibe of the surrounding area of Oldham Street, is one of the reasons why people want to live in north-central manchester. Without this, there won't be much demand for apartments.
Afflecks is a unique place. It evolves as young people evolve and becomes part of their culture. It was part of mine many moons ago and we shouldn't deny kids of the future. Progress? PAH!! Why does everything have to come down to money? You know what really pisses me off about this is that it's selfish idiots of my generation that forget what it is to be young that do things like this. They think it doesn't matter. As long as they can make their money we can have the blandest city in the country. Because that's how it's going. There'll be no character left and nobody will want to come here. Anyway, end of rant!!
Who would want our dear Afflecks to be a freaking block of flats?! its my fravorite shop, and i dont live ANYWHERE near manchester. You'll have many angry goffs after them if they shut it down :) jk. But shutting afflecks is NO joke
Afflecks Palace is part of Manchesters cultural history and so important to so many people. Look at what happened to the city centre in the 60s when they knocked down all the nice old buildings and replaced them with concrete monstrosoties... its happening all over again, but this time with trendy apartments - SAVE AFFLECKS PALACE!!
don't shut it down i need it to get my badges for my shoes i mean ok u can buy badges anywhere but not like the ones there :( i need them badges please dont sut it down we need it !! :(
OMG you gotta keep it open its where i buy my shoes from and clothes sometimes and random stuff ya need its well bad
how can the heartless close the only good placve for us down!!!!!
Afflecks Arcade has been a long standing in the center of Manchester for years and it will be sad to see architechure of that calibre torn down to make way for flats or shops (like that part of the city needs any more flats or shops). Plus the fact that Afflecks takes a huge part in recent contempary history of the music/ clubbing culture of the late 80's and 90's era and previous. For that reason this building must be saved. If not only for all the small buisness that are situated there.
The only place in the U.K that can rival Camden Market under one roof. A true cultural landmark and a symbol of what is great about the city. "and on the sixth day god created manchester" not a property development! Keep it open!!!!
Don't close Afflecks! It has always been the centre for alternative clothing and attitudes! When i first arrived in Manchester 6 years ago, it was my shopping haven!!
I'm from Sheffield and Afflecks is more an shopping center in Manchester. It belongs to every one in the North. It a cultral site where many people came, shopped and experience the pulse of Manchester. There's more to life than making a profit. You cannot close it down for that reason alone. Please Keep it Open!!!!!
