Aflex is a decent palce over all its what ht ekids need to get them started man n theres an awesome t shirt shop in there next to the feish shop man if that closes ille flip[
To lose such a treasure as Affleck's Palace would be an enormous blow to Manchester's visitors and subcultures. This is a part of our city and we shouldn't let it turned into flats just like everywhere else.
OK so yeah - it would be kinda crap to see afflecks go as it does indeed represent one of the urban sub-cultures for which manchester is famous.
However, at the end of the day this is the world of business we're talkin about and here, when it boils down to it is cold hard cash, im not positive that bruntwood or whoever owns it really gives a monkeys if they're hated if theyre making twice the money.
I dont think swearin at them would help much either..
But keep the good fight going!
I don't see why you are talking about keeping it open!! if you read what the article says, it says that they will not be able to afford to keep the satall inside afflecks open
so i think wee all need to get a grasp on this and realise that its over, learn to get on with it!!!!! a petition will not keep it open, because if it cant be afforded, what will this petetion accomplish, absolutley nothing
Bruntwood are basta£$^
they are not gunna let afflecks stay open at the price it currently is, im sorry to say, well not even sorry ashamedly, to say its closing..... x
If you close down afflecke then there will only be urbis for us all to chill n tht aint fair coz chavs got whitefield, prestwich n bury to chill we only got afflecks n urbis you should keep it cos its like a landmark of manchester n its like nationally famous so dont or manchester will go dwn hill thnx........ VOTE TO KEEP AFFLECKS OPEN!!!!!! X X X keep votin people
dont shut down afflecks u will cut the populartie and econimie of manchester by 35% and thats not a good thing coz the next nearist place is burmingham and were will we go then think about it before u anoy the alternaive population of the north west
if afflecks does close down i mean it u r all sods
cause afflecks is a brilliant place
and i av noticed tht mor an mor shops similar 2 afflecks r bein closed down
how very dere they.
Ohmigod!! itz so mean if you close it down.. wel i h8 the shop personally but just think of all the people who love to shop in there and come all the way to manchester just to go in the shop and buy stuff wud be awful !! grrrr .. itz a gr8 shop to have your nails done and yh it can be scary but itz mint lol how many other shops do you see around that are as different as that? all the otha shops are chavy and all the otha shops are plain and boring but afflex palace is sumthing different and unique .. do you realli want boring old flats sat there with no life and soon will be covered with graffiti and will be vandalised!! erm wot a waste of time .. PLEASE DONT CLOSE IT DOWN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
keep it man its one of a kind, since i forgot its name in liverpool closed also its all that is left of its kind so keep it open to save the culture of a great city
why would you close it down? i mean really? there's a good few jobs in there for a start! you'll have to deal with them first, and then you'll have a whole bunch of people you'll have annoyed. what's the point? don't we have enough flats in manchester allready? I come from london, and every time i go to manchetser, it's one of the best bits
you cvant close afflex its the heart od manchester for all emo,s moshers and anyone who likes the style the music and the way of life and i cant believe peaple are evan thinking of closing it the population of munchester will go down at weekend it cant be done
No plz keep this priceless landmark open it is one of our most valued tresures the chavs have the trafford centre and we have afflecks we need it and it part of our culture.

***************
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please dont shut down afflecks
as Adam Deeley said :
London has Buckingham palace, Manchester hasAfflex palace... it should stay that way!!!!
dont you agree??x
This is the most ridiculous thing ever, i spend most weekends at afflecks with alotof my friends. it has alot of memories for me, and many of my friends parents used to shop there. If u have a creative flare, you go to afflecks, and i do alot of my shopping there. i agree with someone else who has signed this "London has Buckingham Palace, Manchester has Afflecks Palace... it should stay this way!!!!!"
If you shut down afflecks , the youth of england shall surely pay the price
everyone i know loves that place
please dont close it down , or the balance of chavs to alternative people , will get mixed causing a raise in crime for years to come :(
Some of my best memories from when I was 15 and 16 were at Afflecks, we have to fight to stop places like this, the Astoria and Hammersmith Palais getting closed down!!!
Afflex is the main reason i go to Manchester!
It's like the mosher stronghold!!! Without its power and prescence there would be chaos on the streets...!!!
Both my Mum and Dad used to shop there! It's become a historical building that makes manchester fun to go to!!
London has Buckingham palace, Manchester has Afflex palace... it should stay that way!!!!
I demand it not be closed down for afflecks palace is the only reason i travel the journey to manchester and is like a second home to me. Tis the only place i shop and the only reason i survive through these cold lonely nights
DONT CLOSE IT DOWN IDIOTS!!
Even my dad used to go to afflecks, thats OLD! They can't close it it's just mean x[ Manchester will just become another boring cosmopolitan grey city full of flats like every other boring city in England.
Independently-minded, creative people made the Northern Quarter what it is. Now outside developers want to hijack our culture and oust its cornerstones. We must not let this happen.
Closing this would be a huge blow to manchester, shutting down a unique, special and amazng piece of manchesters history for yet MORE flats,it is totally ridiculous.Keep it open.Or manchesters northern quarter will die.
This is the best place ever :(
And its the main reason i actually go to manchester...i even get stupidly excited about goin before i actually go, but i love it :( Please dont close, it will make me weep :'(
The article says it all. Without Afflecks, many young teenagers won't have a reason to go to Manchester and therefore won't move on to other shops in the Arndale and such as they become older.
Having said that, even as people DO become older, there is always something new to be found at Afflecks!
Please don't close this cultural icon. To see something which has gained an almost legendary status among my generation close, would be very saddening indeed.
you cant close it, you have to keep it open loads of people go there and i love it to bits, its an amazing place and so many kids and people in general will be soo dissapointed if u close it sooo DONT CLOSE IT *please*
Noooooo way close this I went there for my stone roses n smiths stuff when I was 15 my kids go there now its part of what being a mancunian is about!!!
Keep it open!!! People travel from all over the country to visit afflecks, theres no other place reali like it in the north west! It would have a massive impact on a lot of people if it where to close.. not just visiters but employees and that would be very unfair. It's a very unique and much loved shopping center and it would be very sad for the peoiple of manchester and the north west if it where to close.. so keep it open!!!!
If afflecks palace closes it would be the end of an erra! This would make shopping + browsing round manchester more boring as afflecks is quite unique!
although afflecks has gone down the drain since the closing of the collisium its one of the only place in manchester to buy alternative clothing, it would be a shame if it was to shut down
Please don't close Afflecks Palace. It's one of the few alternative shopping places in the North West and attracts a lot of people to the city who otherwise may as well shop elsewhere
