Afflecks provides a place to buy all the wierd and wonderful things you just can't get without travelling miles, it is such an important part of the alternative community as a place to shop and to socialize. To close it would is unthinkable.
Taking away afflecks will leave people no option but to shop in high street stores and add to globalisation and capitalism. Afflecks helps our city to be unique and without we would turn into just another busy city centre. To get rid of afflecks would be to entirely demolish camden in London.
young people especially need to learn that there is nothing wrong with being different, supporting smaller loacl shops and buying clothes that are more likely to be fair trade or of an organic nature.
please dont close afflecks palace.
If you wish to increase the number of boutiques and bourgeois
shopping stores in Manchester in replacement for a vibrant and ever more popular cultural base, then increase the rent in Affleck's. If however you value the cultural diversity of inner city Manchester and hold the needs of thousands of individuals, then think twice. It is a monument to free expression, intellect, art and diverse thinking. It is also the best place to buy my mint trainers from... do not mess with me!!
Its a ludacris piece of beaurocracyt o even try and close it, listen to what the people want.we love it-its our home....I mean come on.Its a way of life not just for chrimbo :)
Afflecks means so much to so many. Started going with my Mum when I was 13 and even though I live 300 miles away make a point of travelling up North and ALWAYS going in.
by getting rid of such an amazing place it will be practically like creating loads of the same person. alternative ways of dressing and being will be ruined.
It is simply inconceivable that Affleck's Palace could close. I would hold a protest outside the building. Do not understimate how much people love this place: it really is a palace for the sub-cultures of not only Manchester, but the entire north-west region.
you cant just knock this buliding down or turn it into flats, its one of the only little bits of history left in manchester. we got plenty of flats etc infact its all you see now.
Why change something so alternative and original!? It's a big part of Manchester and there's no way it should be taken away. From the celebrity mosaics on the walls to the vintage stalls, it's a fantastic place. Leave Afflecks alone! :]
afflecks palace is a big part of manchester, to everyone who goes, has been, and will go. not only just for the alternative, afflecks has something for everyone. it would be a great loss without it, and a day trip to manchester just wouldn't be the same without getting lost in afflecks.
afflecks palace has been a key building in manchester for ages. ok, "emos" rule afflecks now but back in late 80s and early 90s afflecks was the centre of manchester for followers of manchester bands like stone roses, new order, james, the smiths, morriesy and oasis. closing it would take a huge part of manchester away, whats the point in making manchester less mancified?!
You can't lose it. Its the life and sole of manchester. whats the point of manchester without it? Its totaly needed. We shall chain our selves to it if u try to close it down.
You can't close it. Its the life and soul for some people. Where people shop. How people make a living. Closing it down would be insensitive to all of those people's needs!!
afflecks is like where i get my clothes and "other items" from.
why close it?
im pretty sure it brings ALOT of buisness. and if its because people steal things , then get an alarm system. just dont close it down.
