afflecks is an institution.....its been there over 20 years....you cant just wipe out a part of the cities history, like they did with the hacienda *GRRRRRRRRR*
Afflecks is the only place individuals, use the cold-hearted high-street chains like everyone else, can go and feel at home, feel wanted and meet new and interesting people, and its being shut down to make way for some identi-kit monstrosity for posh people to live in. They're not flats i'd be able to afford, that's for sure.
Losing the Coliseum was a major blow. I have pretty much had it up to the back teeth of corporate arseholes coming in and taking away our individualities.
Affleck's is where i get my clothes, where i get my piercings and tatts (the only tattoo parlour i can trust!), where i hang out with my friends, where we find out about new music, where we buy our 'extras' to personalise our clothing, and where we meet new people. It means everything to me.
Please don't close it.
Afflecks Palace is a Manchester institution! They can't close it- I know people who come from all over the world to visit it! It's the only one of its kind and it needs to stay

If you pull down afflecks your going to pull down the core of the underground scene in the northern quarter. are you TRYING to turn everone is the world into clones and skallys! London has camden, we have afflecks. it's only fair!
you can t close that place! when i lived near manchester that was the best thing about the city. I d feel like a big part of my life had been taken away. so please dont make it in to flats thats so annoying :(
I for one will not be interested in the new flats proposed for Afflecks site, if you have no home, go live in some skip somewhere, because this is OUR skip, and we like it exactly as it is thank you very much.

When has Afflecks ever not been successful?? Unlike the Colisseum (although it is still sad that it was closed) it is never empty...wtf is wrong with these business people?
Afflecks shouldn't be shut down, because it's a great building and is a landmark in itself. Yeah we might need living space, but surley not at the expense of Afflecks
afflecks palace is somewhere that allows people to be individual. closing it will just mean everyone is a topshop clone. i've had so many adventures in afflecks when i was younger, it really would be a shame for it to close.
Please don't close afflecks it is such an amazing and different part of our city and getting rid of it will just make us like any other city. So many people love and depend on afflecks. We dont need any more apartments in Manchester!!!!
The city centre already has loads of apartments, it doesn't need another especially at the expense of one of the last remaining independent retail outlets in Mcr
Keep afflacks open, it gives people fed up with the topshop culture a place to get clothes that they actually want to wear, without people giving them shit for it. close it down, and your taking away some peoples individuality, and the people who work there will lose there jobs
Keep Afflecks open! It gives people who like to dress-like and listen to Alternative music, a place to go no to be judged and to be able to buy things!
It makes lots of money and it also adds to Manchester's culture!
