KEEP AFFLECKS!
We don't need flats.
But as a city we need to keep our individuality and our history.
Take Afflecks away and you're taking the heart out of Manchester.
Beyond belief that they should do the same to afflecks as they have to the brilliant old corn exchange now the plush 'Triangle'& flats @ collosium...Leave it alone! Its part of the soul of the city.
lets not b silly u cant close dwn afflecks its lyk the most amazin place ever. if u close it down then theres no point in even goin 2 manchester. its so kewl!
From Afflecks own website..."The objective is now and always has been to encourage an exciting interesting place, which in our modest way would be something more than just a shopping centre based entirely on commercial interests"... Stick to your principles guys!!!
Afflecks plays a key role in introducing kids to a lifestyle apart from the mainstream. It's quirky, welcoming atmosphere has made it a landmark feature of manchester.
Afflecks is an integral part of Manchester's Success. The Smiths, The Happy Mondays, Sasha, New Order all are a product of afflecks and it would be a sad day if it closed... Long Live Afflecks, Long Live Madchester and all its strange inhabitants
Affleck's is the last place like it in all of Town - the more that area of Manchester gets redeveloped and brough 'up market' the less soul we have in our city. Keep Affleck's open!
AFflecks palace. is the best. forget the hilton hotel. people come to manchester to see afflecks palace.. it is so great that other cities have copied us and made their own version... what a joke. do not close this amazing place
I have visited afflecks regulary since being a kid. It is a place that helps show individuality and helps people express themselves. I would like to think that my kids could one day also love afflecks palace.
Afflecks is unique, and is an important part of Manchester culture. The northern quarter would feel vacant without it, and it would be missed by huge numbers of people if its closed.
Ive been in manchester for two years now and afflecks palace is one of the few places i visit on a regular basis. It is unique in itself and heap of shit anyone can find, EVERYTHING YOU CANT FIND IN NORMAL SHOPS CAN BE FOUND IN THERE. if that place goes, wheres all the stuff gonna go
afflex shouldnt be closed down, all it needs is a bit of money spending on it and new attractions, to bring in more custom, its gone down hill in the past few years, and would b great t see it how it used to be:)
The only reason people love Manchester is for afflecks.
There's finally a place where everyone can go no matter who you are or what you wear and have a boogie in there and then people want to tear it down.
It's stupid.
All hail afflecks haha
As a Southerner, I can say that Afflrecks is one of the reason I moved to the manchester area.
It sums up all that's good about manchester and is one of the MUST SEE places we always take visitors to, whenever we give them the manchester tour.
Without things like Afflecks, there really would be no point in living up here.
This is a centre of creativity, inspiration, style and outright exciting and very nice, helpful and inspirational people.
It's also keeping a lot of money circulating in local businesses rather than taking it out of the city and into Multinational companies.
If Aflecks closes, there's going to be a lot of kids who, instead of becoming part of a dynamic, creative community, are going to be hanging about in anonymous shopping centres, being moved on by security guards and learning there's nothing else to do but cause low-level nuicance and that the only local businesses the council wants are drugs and gambling.
Please close a chain store instead.
There's plenty to choose from and they're available in every other town and city anyhow.
Afflecks has been a major part of my manchester for years!!!! if u close afflecks it'll make manchester a pretty pointless place to go if you are into unique and individual styles!! If afflecks wasn't there i might aswell shop closer to home! its one of the places that makes me wanna go through the hassle of gettin to manchester instead of stayin at home!
afflex palace,
if you take it away you take away a part of the city and our lives.
i love this place its my main source of shopping and i have made many frends there.
i will personally kill the person responsible for closing it!
Afflecks is a historic and important landmark of Manchester, and is an extremely popular place for youths to go and spend money. It must stay open for the interest of the city!
You cannot close Afflecks.
Just yesterday my friends came up to see me from 80 miles away and it was at the top of our list of places to go and things to do.
Afflecks is not just a great place to go and buy things. It's a place to be yourself. It's a peice of history. It's just AMAZING.
Shut it down and you won't just be closing a few shops. You will be closing down part of Manchester.
I can't imagine the Northen Quarter without Aflex! I remember it feeling like an Aladdin's Cave when I was younger, it has character, please try to keep it open.
you cant close afflecks its a piece of everyones history everybody shops there n used to hang out there when they was younger loads of ppl still do aswell so sort it out council n knock something pointless down they dont need anymore like the town hall!!
Its not fair, first Quiggins in Liverpool was shut and knocked down for a stupid car park, now they wanna shut Afflecks down too... there's gonna end up being nowhere for alternative people who don't want to shop in regualar high street stores to go! I went there for my birthday in November & it was such a great day out, the place is so amazing & they sell some stuff there that you can't find anywhere else, I spent nearly all of my birhday money there! It also attracts loads of people into Manchester so if its closed it will lose tourists, when I last went there it was packed! But I know a lot of people will be against it's closure and there'll be enough signatures to make them change their minds. SAVE AFFLECKS! xXx
Afflecks. Legendary...close this, you close our chance for expression that Manchester is known for. My family came up from london for the first time last week, and asked if they could visit Afflecks, then promptly fell in love with it, just as many do. Its a Landmark, it can't close...
I encourage people to visit Manchester for Afflecks Palace alone. With a city so full of the same stores every other city has, Afflecks Palace shows peole, they are other ways, then the mainstream and help encourage the imagination of those who want to remain individual. It's a quirky place that feels like a second home to me and I'm sure to many others. Don't get rid of the unique .. embrace it. It's part of your cities major attraction!
They can't get rid of Afflecks, i remeber when the Coliseum and things were starting to change, its never a good thing. Its part of the Northern Quarter which is famous for being quirky and that little bit different. People who know it love it, and most people who are yet to know it will in turn love it. We're so lucky to have something like Afflecks in our city, its a great place (albeit not as cheap as it used to be!) i have so many memories of skipping school and going to sitting in the cafe all day, its was great, it was thanks to my mum that i got to know afflecks, and i'd love to bring my kids one day (if i have any). So please dont close it :)!
Afflecks Palace is one of the nly places left up here that caters for all types of people. I certainly do not want to be left with the likes of Topshop and Dorothy Perkins as my only means of shopping. You can count me out of shopping in Manchester if it goes and I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I won't be the only one.
the first time i ever visited manchester aged 14 i fell in love with the place and couldn't wait to move. one of the places that made me fall so soon was the afflecks palace.. you can't close this piece of history.
Affleck's is one of the very few places left in Manchester with any kind of appeal to people of all tastes. Where would all of us goths/emos/metallers etc go to be ourselves? London? HELL NO! Keep Affleck's open!
It brings people to manchester and creates a part of manchester's culture. The building is full of art and free expression. A unique place, which inspires creativity along with creating jobs and trade for hundreds of people everyday.
Losing Afflecks would mean Manchester would be that bit less colourfull! It's Grey people in suits always trying to make more money and making the world more grey in the process.Keep it open.
Afflecks palace is an amazing place to go and its one of the best things in manchester. i would never go into town if it wasnt there. Its a legendary place and its been around for too long to be knocked down for flats. SAVE AFFLECKS!
Afflecks palace is unique to Manchester, I have never been to another city and seen something like it. Afflecks palace allows people to be original and it keeps the small time businesses going. to lose afflecks palace is to lose a bit of manchester!!!!!
afflecks palace is one of the few remaining cultural leftovers from before the i.r.a. bombing sparked the goldrush of redevelopment in the northern quarter. to lose this important market/shop complex would deprive manchester of a very important aspect of its charachter. its not just about burger king, debenhams, hmv and any number of shops you can see in any town high street.
when i was a kid i used to travel over from west yorkshire to visit afflecks, 15 years ago,and my own kids go there now! dont bin it.
Afflecks Palace IS Manchester. It represents so much of our manchester life. Ive been going there since i was 11! (im 18 now) if you take it away you take away a part of manchester that means so much to ppl. Plus, i got my 1st tattoo there! Dont be stupid!...keep aflecks!
By closing afflects, you will lose one of the main attractions of manchester to younger generations. Its a historical monument and a valued part of manchesters retail industry. want to close afflecks.
be prepaierd for a fight. kay.
x
Yu can't close afflecks it's lyke the best part of town
=[
Don't be retarded build your flats some where else!!!
Why would you wan't to live there
ewwwwwage!!!
DON'T DO IT!!!
Don't price them out! Don't lose this important piece of Manchester's cultural jigsaw. Joy Division/New Order, Smiths, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis and every band since will tell you how important it was and is to them. We already lost Corn Exchange to a faceless shopping centre with nothing in it. Keep Afflecks!
