If we don't have Affleck's what do we have? We've got enough apartment blocks and commercial department stores. Affleck's is what Manchester's all about, it's cool, alternative, and most importantly independent! It would be tragic to see it go.
If I was to take a friend to Manchester, Afflecks is one of the first places I'd show them. It's a integral part of Manchester's independent community. Another block of flats isn't attracting people to the city. It's destroying it's unique nature.
Why would they shut it down, where would I buy my nose studs from :( so much stuff so many memorys shouldn't be shut down should be given an award for being so brill or somehting!
They cannot shut Afflecks down!! It's the only place I shop now! It's an amazing place full of amazing shops! There is nowhere else quite like it anywhere near where I live - I would have to travel to somewhere like London to get even half of the variety of shops and buisnesses that thrive in that place!
Afllecks is the only alternative clothing complex that there is in Manchester, its unique and it a big part of my life, I have met so many amazing people there. Dont fukkin shut it down! Peolple come from all over the world just to fo there!
Afflecks is integral to Manchester’s alternative cultures. It's such a big part of what makes Manchester Manchester. Isn't the diversity it represents the reason people want to visit, live and work in Manchester?
Shutting down Afflecks would be the worst thing they could do to Manchester town centre. A lot of people only go to Manchester FOR Afflecks.
I wouldnt go if it wasnt for Afflecks, and I know a lot of people who feel the same way.
what a stupid idea, bruntwood have gone crazy, why take this place away and replace it with awful flats for yuppies and ripping the heart out of manchesters most vibrant, individual and cheished areas?
I love afflecks to bit i have only been once or twice and saw my future prom dress but please dont close it its been here years every since my mum was a teen.

This news has reached me all the way out to Shanghai!!!! - I am gutted by the news and shocked and dismayed. Manchester has been regenerated and every time I return, I'm impressed by how its changed but there are somethings you just leave ALONE!!!!
Afflecks Palace is iconic and attracts people from all over Britian. It also gives people a chance to have their own business.
Its the one part of manchester my children remember when they used to come here
It would be a crying shame to close something as unique as this, there are plenty of shops which sell the same stuff. Afflecks meets the demands of people who wish to be different and not sheep...
Afflecks is the core the whole culture of Manchester. I'd rather it stayed and helped Manchester keep it's identity, rather than turn into ANOTHER block of over-priced flats! Thanks.
Oh yea first thing we need is more overpriced flats... Afflecks is part of one of the many cultures in Manchester. People travel into Manchester purely just to go there. Whether you love or hate it, its uniquely charming.
If they close Afflecks down Manchester will losse tourists, people know Afflecks and come travel to see it, i went there when i was a teenager and its like a landmark they can't close it!!
They can't close it. I was only talking to someone at work (in West Yorkshire) about how my frien & I used to go shopping there when I was a teenager (mid 80's eek !) for levis, grandad shirts & spangly cardies.
