It's one of the places thats legendary in the centre of Manchester and a place where you can be yourself and find at least one thing you love! Plus up and coming fashion designers set up shop there and they deserve a place to flaunt their passion! It's been a part of my life since the first time I got to go to Manchester with just my friends in 2000! Stay open so I can relive my youth everytime I visit!!!
Afflecks palace is a building and place of inspiration and fun. People find themselves, their personalities and how to express themselves there. Plus Afflecks is an ace place for costumes or wacky clothes!!! SAVE AFFLECKS!!!
You HAVE to keep Afflecks open, its a place u can go in - and lose urself in for hours. Find those little treasures u cant find in the local highstreet malls/shops. I have spent a lot of my youth in there an had a lot of fun in and around there.
i only discovered Afflecks a few months ago, it cant shut now! my auntie nd uncle spent a lot of time their wen they wer young nd they wer shocked wen they sed it was closing. why shut down a place wer it is good to be different to build a load of places that look the same?
Afflecks has been around way too long for it to go - even my mum went there when she was a student! It is important to ahve something that represent the independent spirit of the Northern quarter especially since it was AFflecks that contributed to its succsess in the first place and with out things like this people wouldn't want to live there! Getting rid of Afflecks would be a travesty
afflecks is the only reason that me and many others go manchester! its pathetic to watch as bastards take over yet another cultured bit of a city and leave the commercial crap
afflecks is one of the only reasons i go to manchester!! i dont go to shop at topman or primark i go for afflecks!!! look at liverpool they got rid of quiggins and thats the bloody capital of culture! its wrong!! KEEP AFFLECKS
No way man :|. This is the shizz!. Wee. heh. So yeah that would be a rather gay thing to do. Is this a real petition? Who's gonna read it? Anywhoo...Yes it would be gay as it is just ace. How silly. Crazy fools. Lets attack them. hmm yes. Well...xx
it has such charactor and in the age of the carbon copy shopping mall with 3 of every shop and primarni we need placeslike afflecks palace to put some charactor and fun back into shopping!!! even if you're not buying errgh cnat believe they want to push the peope out!!!! SAVE AFFLECKS!!! who needs more poorly finnished, over priced yuppy hampster boxs when afflecks is sooo much more!!! SAVE AFFLECKS!!!
For Afflecks to close would be an absolute travesty - likewise, doubling rents would be devastating to the spirit of the place and the Northern Quarter generally - so many independent, creative businesses are being pushed out by massive corporations all over the country (central London hardly has any left now) and pretty soon there'll be no room for creativity and individuality - you may as well just pave over the entire country and turn it into one giant Starbucks. And for the record, I lived in a Manchester city centre flat for a year - you can't swing a cat without hitting one - why ruin such a culturally significant building just to build another 20 to add to the thousands already in town?! DON'T DO IT!!!!!
Erm like wtf you can't demolish it for some fookin flats thats just gay...we can't buy cool things from them...unless we have permission to break in to their homes and steal their stuff... tis your call (DON'T KILL IT) hint hint xxxxxx
pwetty pwease keep it up :D all the best clothes are there and i lurve it.... it has the best elevater ever!!!!!!! he's my friend! :O dont kill him, there are enough crappy flats around we dont need more.... we need afflecks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! i mean NEED IT SOOOO BAD!!!!! ITS AWESOME hahaha im gonna babble on until u decide to keep it open!.................... ........ actually im not coz im bored...... SAVE AFFLECKS!!!!!!!!!
Afflecks palace can't close, there is so much there to offer and so much entertaiment.i have spent hours on end in there and loved it so much.
there is always for new thing each time i go and so many people depend on this place.
it cant't close. it shouldnt.
IT WOULD BE SELFISH

YOU CANT CLOSE AFFLEKS PALACE
its one of the only great buildings we have left also its an awesome place to shop and a great place to keep ma sister amused for a few hours. YOU CANT SHUT AFFLEKS
Not only is this a beautiful bohemian artistic landmark for creative individuals, and a thriving business; but it is one of the MAJOR attractions for my student community and I to visit Manchester. With it's closure some of us wouldn't to go Manchester at all, and those who go for the matches, would stay purely for the day. KEEP IT OPEN!!!
but its afflecks. how will anyone know where to find anything unless you start by going ' err right downthat road by afflecks and then...' its just not feasable
Omg, you cannot close Afflecks, it will be a big dissapointment to so many people and personally I think it's the best shop in Manchester to get absolutely anything from and it's individual not like any of the same old same old shops in the Arndale Centre. Don't close Afflecks Palace!!

pomg you cannot shut afflecks!! it would be a great shame for manchester to lose such an imanginative place! its a place where people can hang out with there mates or to shop for clothes. its a place where everyone can get along!! please keep it open im begging you!
age 12
omg keep it open
the only reason you'd want to live around there would be to go shopping and be nere afflecks, the flats would b pretty useless, manchester is just bcoming another city, i hate to say it but liverpool is starting to lok much more apeling.
You can't close Afflecks! Afflecks rocks! If you close Afflecks, not only will loads of businesses suffer, but also loads of shops will not be in Manchester like the Bead Shop and Bats. If you close it, Manchester will lose a lot of business. And surely that is a good enough reason not to close it down.

If afflecks closes a lot of businesses in that area are going to suffer, not just Afflecks itself. Vinyl Exchange, Dawsons, and any number of eating establishments in that area rely heavily on the custom of people whose primary draw to that area is Afflecks.
i come all the way to manchester from italy to come to afflecks coz of my m8. why shut it? dont ppl have enough money to spend or is roll royce not enough?
Afflecks is the best place in the world. If it closes i'll be very upset! Please don't close it. If it closes i hope they open something like it. It'll never be as good though.
please dont close it!! its got something for everyone in there!! fits joins moshers to rich kids to scallys together!! and its nice!!! its the one place they get along!! plesae dont get rid of the sign from outside!! "on the seventh day God created MANchester" thats why you cant shut it down!! coz god is involved!!

What a pathetic move on Bruntwood's behalf here (they own the building).
Like many have said here, this is an integral part of Manchester. Afflecks palace is a great day out, and believe me - it would be a full day. many a time have I gone shopping there and strolled out 4 -> 5 hours later. So much diversity under one roof. Its popular with people from most surrounding cultures, so why remove it?
If you have ever been - you know what I mean.
Afflecks is a part of us all, and can not be closed.
I can't believe that they are really considering closing Afflecks palace. I practically grew up there and I had my first job in the Top Cafe. To close it would be to lose a part of Manchester's uniqueness.
i can't believe that such a fantastic place is going to close because some idiot higher up wants more money... manchester needs afflecks, it won't be the same without it and i for one won't have a reason to go to manchester again if it turns into flats...
Afflecks cant! close, its one of the only place where we can buy things, its so unique, without afflecks we will have to resort to online shopping. its been there for so long, many of our parents used to go there when they were younger aswell, to get rid of afflecks would be a massive shame.
I never got to see the hacienda because developers knocked it down and built flats in its place, look how much worse off we are for it. (Props to sankeys etc who still rock it) The NQ needs afflecks, simple.
