Keep Affecks open!!! It is one of the only shopping sites in Manchester reflecting a local culture. The Northern Quarter should only expand not demise!
afflecks palace reminds me of my teenage years, the shops within it have raplidly shrunk over the years and further generations should experience afflecks palace. It is part of manchester and should remain.
its has to stay open its a big part of the culture for manchester. All walks of life shop their for their own reason. Indepentant shops rather than chain stores always offer that little something extra in the way of service and products. Its just a fun place to go shopping more som that the Arndale or the Triangle by far. KEEP IT!!
why is it they're getting rid off all of the alternative ahops 1 by 1?....first it was 'Mergan's Keep' *if anyone else remembers it*, now affleck's....why??????Affleck 's is a landmark
I remember Afflecks palace being the only alternative place to shop and hangout. It will be a sad loss for the future generations of young men and women who don't want to dress like the manakins in the mainstream stores and look like everyone else. Afflecks Palace is a store about individuality, with a sense of 'I've thought about this and have chosen to apply my braincells, rather than follow the crowd and fit in' comfortableness about it. If it goes another landmark will be lost, making Manchester's character poorer for it. Shame on those who want to close or don't want to fight the closure. This is your heritage, open your mouths and protest.
Closing Afflecks would be like closing the corn exchange in Leeds, they are places for young people to feel socially accepted and are also historically valuable places. They cannot be allowed to be crushed by demand for modernity or living space!
I ama former resident of Manchester and always enjoyed the varied, and more importantly the most original, shopping place to go. It would be a real shame for the whole cultural dimension of Manchester if Afflecks is to be gotten rid of.
Nooooo!Afflecks is my fav. The people are so friendly, the atmosphere is so chilled and the products and stalls are so unique. This cannot be allowed to happen.Save Afflecks!!!
afflecks palace needs to stay open because its the only place i can buy the clothes and music clothing that im in to instead of going on the internet witch is alot more expensive please stay open

You can't close Afflecks - I moved to Australia 2 years back but i'll be gutted if I go home to see me mates and they've closed it down! The Northern Quarter just wouldn't be the same without it. :o(
Affleck's is indeed a large part of the culture of both the Norther Quarter and indeed Manchester itself. It would be a loss to everyone who has ever visited, and indeed for those who have yet to visit, if the building was turned into yet another block of city appartments.
