Living overseas and coming back to Manchester once a year, I can see how the city is gradually losing its identity and becoming like everywhere else in its quest to be trendy and attract money. The closure of Afflecks Palace would be another blow to the city.
Afflecks is a Mancunian institution. True, it has seen better days but it is what it stands for that matters. If Afflecks goes a major piece of Mancunian history and character (like the Hacienda)goes with it. We should be looking after places like this - not turning them into more unoccupied flats!!!
you can't close somewhere like afflecks, it's an icon of Manchester. To close it will be to push out all the people who dress differently, by closing afflecks you would be saying screw you to the alternative crowd and letting manchester be taken over by the chav socioty side of life. Don't take away the one thing that makes manchester worth whilse to visit my friends come over from the states to shop at afflecks please leave it open. It's also a place to make new friends you surely can't consider taking that away...........
Afflecks Palce is an insitution and would be sorely missed. It would be definate effect on Tourism and most of all the people of Manchester. This has to be stopped
Affleck's is SO vital for many people starting out in business, particularly those brave enough to 'break the mould', think outside the box, and bring us products that you just can;t get anywhere else. It's about the most ethically sound place in the city!!
I cannot believe they are even contemplating closing afflecks palace. My friends travel from the North of Scotland just to visit it. It is a fantastic, unusual piece of culture that we should be fighting to keep alive. Please don't let it close due to lack of money.
Where else, really, in the north west will we find such a well known, off-beat, bohemian and fantastical place that I don't have to travel thousands of miles for? I whole-heartedly agree with this, not only because of the damage to the culture, but also due to the fact that Manchester as a city will lose out culturally and financially.
I've been going to this place for years and my Mum went before me!! how can you close down a major landmark of Manchester!? I love the individuality of that place and the fact that you could spend the whole day there.. theres that much to see!!
I cannot imagine Manchester City Centre without Afflecks. It can't close. We need these independent, individual wee shops... there more to Manchester shopping then bloomin Primark!...

Afflecks Palace is like a vital organ in the body of manchester! Alongside the Trafford Centre, Arndale Centre, Chinatown, etc. it holds the memories for thousands of people including myself. So SAVE AFFLECKS ... SAVE MANCHESTER!!! WHOSE WITH ME! x.

Keep Afflecks open, where else do you shop for alternative stuff in manch? even tho afflecks is becoming more commericial and populated with emos who think they own the place there's still bloody good stuff there.

they are one of the most visited shops in manchester, why close something that so many people care about? leave it open, it helps many people find different things, such as cloathing and jewlery that can't be found elsewheresuch an excelent place should be left open!!!
