This is a Manchester institution - part of what makes the city stand out from the rest. If this were to be lost, then Manchester would lose a lot of what makes it great.
its a place where people meet, have fun and spend their money at various stalls. its not just us that will lose out but the stallholders and the whole comunity
Such an amazing place shouldn't be lost. Manchester will be a poorer place. The art and creativity present in the building will make Manchester a poorer place if it were to be lost
Afflecks is a great place, keep it open! Its the only public place that sells what it sells, why take it all away from the people who want to buy it? if Afflecks is closed the diversity and uniqueness that it holds will be lost
What with the goverment saying we cant smoke, cant be fat i guess the next stage is fashion and general hangouts. Theres nowhere around where I live to buy anything like you would find in afflecks, a local HMV doesnt even have a metal section. NAZIS
Afflecks Palace is a one off thing. You won't find anything else like it, so please tell me, what is the bloody POINT in taking it away and replacing it with something as common as shitting flats that you can see anywhere you shitting go. The company that owns Afflecks seems like an arsehole, i mean, WHY do they want to change it into something that would probably get them less money? why would a European person want to come to Manchester for flats? no one knows. Why would a European person want to come to Manchester for Afflecks? That's just self-explanitary.
I've been shopping in Afflecks since 1991 when i was 14. Manchester would NOT be the same without it and a huge slice of alternative culture would be lost.....KEEP IT OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!! There are so many other sites for City Centre flats, this is a one in a million place with too much history and culture to just knock it down and rebuild.!!!!
I think this is absolutly rediculous! Why are so many places turning into flats!? Whats the point! To be perfectly honest Id rather have somewhere to go and shop, see somewhere that supports new buisnesses and somehwere that draws people form all over the country. Its a major part of manchester and something we will all be sorry to see the back of if, yet again, we have something so precious taken away from us.Another 7652 people agree, somehow ladies and gentlemen, I can't b wrong.
Afflecks is the main reason I go into Manchester and will br thouroughly ditraught if I can't go there any more. Everything about it encourages individuality (for the most part) and it will be a huge loss to the Northern Quatre if it is shut down.
It funding for the Arts Council hadn't been cut due to the 2012 Olympics overspend this place would be a cultural landmark. Save this precious piece of Manchester's history!
keep it friggin open!My mum used to shop there when she was my age for god sakes =DI completely agree with Angela dont turn it into another Hacienda, Manchester jus wont be the same =/
Afflecks is the best shopping place in the world, its where friends can hang out, buy things that you normally have to buy on the internet. You have mine and my friends full support!!!
Afflecks has been a part of the Manchester community for decades, it seems sad people want to close it, knowing full well, people will become less tolerant of those
please dont close down afflecks, i shop there nd so did my dad before me. people who'v never even been to manchester have heard about afflecks its that popular
