Affleck's is the heart and soul of Manchester's alternative culture. As somebody said recently - keep Affleck's, or give Manchester city centre back to the scallies!
Afflecks is a treasure chest of weird and wonderful objects, clothes and other stuff. I have shopped at Afflex for 12 years and it would be a travesty if it was to close. It is a historical part of Manchester culture.
I love afflecks, awesome place for everyone to go and shop. The one place people can go and fit in instead of going to a place and bieng insulted by chavs. It should stay open
No No No please dont let this happen - it is one of the only bits of individuality left - enuff historic buildings have been buldozed in the name of 'progression' ie apartment blocks - let us have ONE thing that remains different - and where will I get me tartan pants from if it shut?
Do not destroy part of Manchesters Youth Heritage. I know alot of people who come to manchester Just for Aflecks to get rid of this would be ruining something amazing for future generations
If you close Afflecks a lot of trade will be lost it's a tourist attraction as well as a beautiful building and a great place to shop. LONG LINE AFFLECKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please don't close afflecks!!! Look around in shopping centres and all you see is mostly mainstream shops. What about people who don't want mainstream...they go to places like afflecks. We need more places like this, not less. Keep afflecks there, its better than any block of flats!
i love to get lost in afflecks everytime i go so i dont want it closing down cos if it does everyone will move to urbis and become emos :O:O:O:O and that wouldnt be right, so afflecks muct be saved!!!!
Afflecks Palac e was my favourite place when i was younger and i still love it now.It is an important part of Manchester and part of our history will be destroyed if it is closed.
you can't shut afflecks down,its been open for years and without it,theres only a few more places around england and wales to go,it brings people together and keeps the worlds balance so screw the council for wanting to shut shit like this down,we need to keep metal going,its to great to die!!
I have only been to Manchester once, so I definitely have to go back. And Afflecks Palace is one of the places on my list of things to see. They cannot close this down to turn it into flats!!!
Afflecks NEEDS to be kept open. It's an iconic building in Manchester that thousands of people have grown up in. Every scrap of the past is being closed. Shopping areas that are as colourful and diverse as Afflecks arn't around much now, It's all white washed walls and mirrors where as Afflecks has such a vibrant personality. As an artist it definently influenced me at an early age that we need art to brighten up peoples lives. It's also brilliant to see peoples own stalls which gives a lot of individuality to the place. You won't get that in any other shopping centres :( Keep it open!!!
A crying shame that this should come to pass. Afflecks Palace is one of the last parts of Manchester with true character, and I'm damned if I'm seeing this city become yet another anonymous, soulless, corporate slab.
I used to visit there with my Dad when i was a kid and thought it was the most amazing and magical place I'd ever seen. I still feel that way years on. Afflecks defines Manchester...it MUST stay!!
