Afflecks should stay open. It's value to the city is huge, and I agree it's one of the last homes of quirky independence, imaginative and creative ideas and one-off boutiques and stalls which stands in the way of Manchester finally dropping groaning to it's knees under the weight of corporate, global branding (perhaps that should say blanding?) which doesn't serve it's population well.
Afflecks Palace is more than just a shopping centre, it is a second home for many a youth, and even though I am meant to now be 'grown up' I still enjoy going. It would truly be a tragedy to loose it. I would advise all stall holders to contact citizen rights as I have already contacted them and they advised that they should be able to help you with the rising rent situation. Check it out!!
Keep Afflecks Palace open!, if you close it down you'll be taking away part of Manchester's culture, and the backbone of the thriving community in the northen quarter!!!!
Definately keep Afflecks open! Afflecks is what keeps Manchester MANCHESTER. Without it, Manchester would just be like every other city. Afflecks is an amazing place and doesn't deserve to be closed, it's an amazing building as it is and deserves to stay that way!Afflecks is a unique place, theres nothing like it anywhere, theres a million other places where you could build flats, so build them there instead!
I don't know why people are trying to get rid of everything that made Manchester so great. People come here because of the spirit and atmosphere, soon we will have none left.
You can't close Affleck's, why complain About small independant traders being snubbed out by big companies, and then snub them out!!! It's hypocricy!! And why build flats there anyone who would want to live in a back alley of manchester city center wouldn't be able to afford them anyway
This place means so much to so many people, including myself. One of the few places independent buisnesses can thrive, and the powers that be want to turn it into yet more flats and apartments, unaffordable to the people who hold the place so dear. a disgrace.
